when releasing spray knozzle pressure washer stall
Answer
You don't provide much information as to the problem. I assume you are talking about a gas powered pressure washer. Sounds like the relief valve is not working. When you release the trigger the pressure should be relieved by a bypass valve.

Why won~t my power washer stay running when I realease the spray nozzle? Thanks?

Answer
The pressure bypass valve, often called the unloader valve,is stuck. It's purpose is to route the pressurized water back into the pump so that when the nozzle is shut, the engine will not stall from over working.Try locating it and fiddling around with it to free it up.
