Best Buy Hot Water Pressure Washer?

DMPUS

I need to purchase a hot water pressure washer for commercial use.
I am looking at several options, but I am not sure what to look for: engine, brand, PSI, HP and etc..
I am looking at an interesting offer on ebay for a china made engine pressure washer for $2585 shipped. It looks nice, but I am not sure if that China engine will be reliable. On the other hand if I look for Honda engine HWPW I will probably have to sacrifice the 4500 PSI with less and will eventually pay more than $2600..
Here is the ebay deal: http://cgi.ebay.com/Powerland-4500-PSI-Gas-Power-Hot-Water-Pressure-Washer_W0QQitemZ290335600732QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item439959b05c&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
What do you guys think and suggest?

Thanks,

D.

Answer
Here is my suggestion --- take it for what it's worth, which is speculation. Unless someone has purchased such a washer and knows....everyone can only 'speculate'.

So....if this is your first washer, and you're using it for business purposes, buy one locally. Pay the money and get one with a warranty from a company that looks like they will be in business at least for one year (yeah I know). That way if anything happens, you can take it there and let them deal with it and get it back quickly. Otherwise you run the risk of having something happen, then taking it somewhere and no one being familiar with it and either you're waiting forever for parts, or paying thru the nose for labor...or both and being without it for who knows how long.

After you buy your first one and you're good......then go buy one off ebay, then if anything happens, you're covered. If it turns out to be a good deal, then buy another one, but for the first one...for business....buy local.

Recommended PSI for Gas Pressure Washer cleaning Car and garage door?

Phoenix82

Hi, I recently bought a 2600 PSI Gas Pressure washer but I haven't used it yet, I plan on using it today but I have a couple of questions. I have a foam lance (a foamer gun) for washing cars, what PSI should I use when the foam gun is attached to it to wash my car? Also, my garage doors are dirty, what psi should I use to clean them and avoid chipping the paint on them?

Answer
William B is right. High pressure nozzles can strip off the paint. It can also remove the clear coat. If you use higher pressure keep the nozzle far away from the surface. Remember too these high pressures can cut through skin and even cut fingers and toes off.

my troy built pressure washer is not getting any pressure how do I fix it?

ACI Constr

It is a troy built honda 2600 psi power washer. It is a friend of mine and he is asking me to fix it. I don't know where to begin. I don't know if he left it running burned it up or what. How do I trouble shoot this problem.

Answer
If the motor runs but pump will not pressure up then the pump is no good. Some are rebuildable but if you need a new pump it will cost as much as a new washer..

What could be wrong with my pressure washer engine?

MS II

I have a 6 hp, 2600 psi pressure washer with a Honda motor that's about 6 years old. It sat all winter with gas in the tank and carburetor, and when I tried to use it a few weeks ago, it would only run on half-choke. Today, I took the gas tank and carburetor off (and took the carburetor apart), cleaned everything with carburetor cleaner, put everything back together, filled the tank with new gasoline, and changed the oil. After all that, the pressure washer will still only run on half-choke. I'm not a small engine mechanic, so if you are, and you have some suggestions, I'd love to read them and try them out. Thanks. PS. I know it would be easier to take it to a mechanic, but it's so much more fun to try it yourself first.

Answer
Take off exhaust at cylinder head, will it run ok now ,they are prone to a large build up of carbon in exhaust and exhaust port which causes a back pressure preventing it drawing in enough fuel but the half choke cures this .An old head would recognize the soft exhaust note and know what the trouble was,
