Use JB Weld to fix electric pressure washer pump manifold?

the manifold for the pump is cracked. will this product work? trying to save $30 from buying a new one. this is a 1600 psi washer.

Like one of the post mentioned - you didn't say if the manifold was plastic or metal.

If its plastic, try this - take 80-120 grit sandpaper and roughen the surface - you need a rough surface for the adhesive to "bite" to - the more surface the better. Get a fiberglass repair kit - one that has the fiberglass cloth and epoxy. Mix an appropriate amount of the resin, and put a thin coat on the roughened surface, and push in an appropriately sized piece of the glass cloth. Let it cure, then roughen it slightly and repeat with another layer. Two layers of this stuff should more than handle the pressure and keep the part together.

If its metal, use a Dremel with a grinding/cutting wheel to score a little bit on either side, and the use the JB weld. Extend it across at least 1/2" and let the stuff cure at least 24 hours - preferably longer. I've had this stuff on a lot of things, and as long as you get an appropriate thickness of the stuff, it'll hold metal together very, very well.

Coleman pressure washer- Anybody have non-working one? I need a pump part?

Coleman no longer makes pressure washers. I broke a very small part off my pump. Before you send your broken washer to the dump, I would be happy to buy just this piece I need or your entire non-working pressure washer if you are close to SF Bay area. Mine is the 4hp model but I believe all the pumps were the same.
I erred in my original post. The part I need is for the water distribution manifold (adjusting screw) and not the pump. The pump works fine and there is no mfg name on it so it must be proprietary.

the pump was NOT made by Coleman. there should be a manufacturers name on the pump. contact Coleman and see if they can give you the name of the manufacturer of the water distributation manifold.

Installing a PEX Manifold?

I am in the planning phase of my PEX re-pipe, and have a question on Manifold placement.

I live in one-story single family home 4 bedroom 2 bath

How far can the manifold be from the water heater?

The home is about 45 feet wide running North/South. The water line in is on the North side of the home. The water heater, backyard Spigot (sprinklers) and MAIN bath room is on the North side as well, but the Kitchen, washer/dryer, and 2nd bathroom are on the South side.

I've always heard that the Manifold should be near the Water Heater, but what is near? if I put the Manifold on the North side, the longest runs would be to the Kitchen, etc...If I put it on the south side, it would be more convenient i.e. less work to run the lines, since the majority is on the south side, but it would be some distance from the water heater, and the main bath.

So, how far is too far? I don't have a large home, so I'm hoping placement isn't be an issue.

If I were to put it on the southside, then it would be a 29 foot run to the water heater, and a few feet longer to the MAIN bathroom. Yet, if I put it on the North side, then it would be a 29 foot run to the kitchen, etc..and be a lot harder to run the lines.

What are your thoughts?

I just did my home myself a few months ago... it is said that it should be at leAST 5 FEET AWAY. mine is about 25' away and the pressure is awesome.

What will happen if I accidently washed the engine of my car?

if i was you i would open the air filter and that no water has got into it. If it's nice and dry then no problem, if there is water in there then it needs to come out( and out of the inlet manifold as well if it has got that far) as water being sucked into the engine will cause MAJOR engine damage. Apart from that i can't see there being any issues.

i don't know who has given my answer a thumbs down? If a pressure washer was used to clean it then it is quite possible that water has got into the air filter inlet. If so then it can and will cause damage. If you remember from your science lessons WATER IS NOT COMPRESSIBLE and if it goes into the cylinders the it can easily snap a conrod or damage piston rings or valves as you turn a cold engine over to start it!

Is it safe to power wash your engine compartment when you wash your car?

I'm afraid of breaking anything mechanical or electrical if I use the power wash, but I can't think of any oother way to give the engine and everything else under the hood a good cleaning. Thank you.

no at the pressure that the washer uses, so many things can go wrong. you can force water and detergent into small areas in the engine, you can short out several areas in the electrical systems, you can force water into the intake manifold, or the oil pan. if you can adjust the pressure down quite a bit, you should be ok, but avoid the ignition system.

Why does my shower water get suddenly very hot?

I'll be in the shower with the water on lukewarm when for no reason it will start coming out scalding hot for about 20 seconds and I have to move out of the water's path until this is over. Adjusting the knobs during the hot water burst doesn't help because by the time I adjust it, the burst is over.

I'm the only one in the house so it's not someone else flushing a toilet or running a sink or anything.

Anyone know what the problem might be?

I get this complain it apartment maintance. I'm assuming you have a shower with a seperate knob for hot and cold water. Your knobs are attached to valve stems. At the end opposite the knob is a round rubber BIBB WASHER held on the valve shaft with a bibb screw.. One cause could be a loose bibb washer on the cold stem that moves back and forth and blocks cold water flow as pressure in the main fluctuates. It can block cold water so all you get is HOT water (and blisters). Yoy have to shut off the cold water to that valve or maybe the whole house to remove the valve. (Trust methis is a must.) then you can remove the handle, the tube between the handle and the wall and access the valve. But before you remove the valve, turn it on the bleed off pressure in the line and to ensure it is shut off. Okay, the valves I work on can be removed with a13/16th spark plug socket. take the valve out and see if the washer is loose. Replacing the washer is good since you're in there. Also shine a flash light into the manifold (where the valve was screwed in and see if there is any debris like lime or mineral deposits. Smear plumber grease on the valve theads and re-install. Be sure to start the valve by hand so you do not cross thread the valve and trash the manifold. Tighten up the valve. Install tube and handle and see if this cures the issue
