Pressure washer gone bad. Repair business stated this type of pump is not rebuildable. So I am looking for a new pressure washer but want to make sure the pump is serviceable.
How do you tell?
What do you look for?

Answer
Call the guy back and ask which brands he would recommend

When buying mine all the research I did (google) said to stay away from aluminum pumps, I opted for a Generac pressure washer with a brass pump, also they need to be winterized or kept where it won't freeze during the winter months.

Pressure Washer - Why is gasoline coming out of the oil dipstick hole?

J E

About 4 months ago, I purchased a Generac 6022/5989 2,700 PSI pressure washer. Since then, I've used it 4 times. I last used it 5 days ago. Today I noticed some oil beneath it on the garage floor. It was a decent-sized puddle of oil. I started investigating, and couldn't really see any place where it looked like oil was leaking out. I decided to check the oil level, so I unscrewed the little dipstick cap. As soon as it was unscrewed all the way, liquid started gushing out of the hole. By the smell, I quickly realized it was gasoline. It was just gushing and gushing, like there was pressure behind it. I stuck the dipstick cap back on because my garage was getting covered in gas. I went inside to look for some rags, and a few minutes later when I returned, the gas all over my garage floor was looking all separated and weird. I don't know if it's just because of the oil it mixed with, or if there is also water in there.

I've never heard of this happening. Some things I've read online suggested if you don't turn the fuel switch off after use, this can happen because the carb continues to fill with gas even after use, and it somehow gets into the crankcase. I just don't know. Any small engine guys out there who have seen this before?

Answer
the float in the carb is stuck
