Motorcycle tank rust question?

pressure washer accessories on Karcher Pressure Washer Accessories | Reviews | PROS & CONS |
pressure washer accessories image

Spoo Gen

Let's say you have a metal tank and you want to clean it.So you use a pressure washer to get the dirt off there and you instantly dry it out with compressed air.Is it possible that it will rust because of the water you threw inside, although you did dry it out immediately?

Answer
It's not the water that causes the rust.
It's the oxygen in the water, hence "oxidation"
Immediately fill the tank with gasoline to dilute the water.
That will break apart the oxygen molecules and let them
escape the open tank.
Oxygen molecules will not mix with gasoline.
Add fuel stabalizer http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/STA-BIL-8-oz-STA-BIL-concentrated-fuel-stabilizer/_/N-26pj?itemIdentifier=136365_0_0_ to further dilute the water, making
what's left combustible.

Insecticide in a pressure washer?

pressure washer insecticide on PVC Flexible Clear Transparent Hoses, Super Spray Hoses Car Washing ...
pressure washer insecticide image

Jennifer

I am wondering what is a good sprayer for yard/garden insecticide and liquid fertilizer. I just finished pressure washing my deck and got to thinking it would be nice to have something like this -- electric and powerful -- for my yard, for my very tall fruit trees, 1-acre grass with ants, general fertilizing. I bet one could get that done in no time flat.

I have a Craftsman hand-pump which I was never, ever happy with from day one. I dread the thought of using it.

Anyone ever put anything like that in a pressure washer ?
On 2+ acres infested with ants, I think it's time to spray. I'm sure the 3 neighbors would prefer to see the lush green lawn I used to have . . .

Trust me, they won't/can't sue and wouldn't do that anyway, not like that here, thank goodness

Answer
Prune your fruit trees. Get those high suckers off. Tall tree do not produce much fruit,(especially on the higher limbs). These types of trees are being yanked for a more tighter intense production orchard.
The excess sucker growth just makes the tree weaker (and a weak tree basically gives off a scent that attracts bugs).

As for putting insecticide into a pressure washer.....you seem to have overlooked that insecticide and poison are the same thing. It will kill you just as well as a bug. You really want to be careful with it and not contaminate the entire neighborhood. Besides it needs to be ontop of the leaves, (not in them.) Same would apply to the fruit. A poison apple is not worth much to anyone.
Orchardists try using as little pesticides as possible.(it cuts into their profit margin)
I wouldn't use it for getting it out of the pressure washer will take ages.(and maybe the next thing you pressure wash is the picnic table).without even thinking about residue.

Answer
From Crude Oil
The problem with crude oil is that it contains hundreds of different types of hydrocarbons all mixed together. You have to separate the different types of hydrocarbons to have anything useful. Fortunately there is an easy way to separate things, and this is what oil refining is all about.

The oil refining process starts with a fractional distillation column.

Different hydrocarbon chain lengths all have progressively higher boiling points, so they can all be separated by distillation. This is what happens in an oil refinery - in one part of the process, crude oil is heated and the different chains are pulled out by their vaporization temperatures. Each different chain length has a different property that makes it useful in a different way.

To understand the diversity contained in crude oil, and to understand why refining crude oil is so important in our society, look through the following list of products that come from crude oil:

* Petroleum gas - used for heating, cooking, making plastics
o small alkanes (1 to 4 carbon atoms)
o commonly known by the names methane, ethane, propane, butane
o boiling range = less than 104 degrees Fahrenheit / 40 degrees Celsius
o often liquified under pressure to create LPG (liquified petroleum gas)
* Naphtha or Ligroin - intermediate that will be further processed to make gasoline
o mix of 5 to 9 carbon atom alkanes
o boiling range = 140 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit / 60 to 100 degrees Celsius
* Gasoline - motor fuel
o liquid
o mix of alkanes and cycloalkanes (5 to 12 carbon atoms)
o boiling range = 104 to 401 degrees Fahrenheit / 40 to 205 degrees Celsius
* Kerosene - fuel for jet engines and tractors; starting material for making other products
o liquid
o mix of alkanes (10 to 18 carbons) and aromatics
o boiling range = 350 to 617 degrees Fahrenheit / 175 to 325 degrees Celsius
* Gas oil or Diesel distillate - used for diesel fuel and heating oil; starting material for making other products
o liquid
o alkanes containing 12 or more carbon atoms
o boiling range = 482 to 662 degrees Fahrenheit / 250 to 350 degrees Celsius
* Lubricating oil - used for motor oil, grease, other lubricants
o liquid
o long chain (20 to 50 carbon atoms) alkanes, cycloalkanes, aromatics
o boiling range = 572 to 700 degrees Fahrenheit / 300 to 370 degrees Celsius
* Heavy gas or Fuel oil - used for industrial fuel; starting material for making other products
o liquid
o long chain (20 to 70 carbon atoms) alkanes, cycloalkanes, aromatics
o boiling range = 700 to 1112 degrees Fahrenheit / 370 to 600 degrees Celsius
* Residuals - coke, asphalt, tar, waxes; starting material for making other products
o solid
o multiple-ringed compounds with 70 or more carbon atoms
o boiling range = greater than 1112 degrees Fahrenheit / 600 degrees Celsius

You may have noticed that all of these products have different sizes and boiling ranges. Chemists take advantage of these properties when refining oil. Look at the next section to find out the details of this fascinating process.

==============
Burning crude oil itself is of limited use. To extract the maximum value from crude, it first needs to be refined into petroleum products. The best-known of these is gasoline, or petrol. However, there are many other products that can be obtained when a barrel of crude oil is refined. These include liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), naphtha, kerosene, gasoil and fuel oil. Other useful products which are not fuels can also be manufactured by refining crude oil, such as lubricants and asphalt (used in paving roads). A range of sub-items like perfumes and insecticides are also ultimately derived from crude oil.

Furthermore, several of the products listed above which are derived from crude oil, such as naphtha, gasoil, LPG and ethane, can themselves be used as inputs or feedstocks in the production of petrochemicals. There are more than 4,000 different petrochemical products, but those which are considered as basic products include ethylene, propylene, butadiene, benzene, ammonia and methanol. The main groups of petrochemical end-products are plastics, synthetic fibres, synthetic rubbers, detergents and chemical fertilisers.

Considering the vast number of products that are derived from it, crude oil is a very versatile substance. Life as we know it today would be extremely difficult without crude oil and its by-products.

Is it a big job to remove and replace the guts of a toilet tank?

pressure washer youtube on Honda Pressure Washer - YouTube
pressure washer youtube image

Jo

This is an old, low toilet. Without replacing it I would like to know if I can remove the tank pieces. I have no knowledge of plumbing at all.

In order to flush the toilet you have to hold the handle down for the entire duration while the water "slowly" flushes the toilet.

The other aggrevation thing is the chain falls off the handle bar and always needs replacing otherwise it gets stuck under the rubber top at the bottom of the tank and then the tank top has to be removed.

Is this a big job, a costly job?

Answer
They sell a plastic wrap kit set at the hardware stores with all the pieces. There is one tricky part. Two bolts hold that tank onto the seat. The nuts are on the underside, you need a "deep well" socket to get those off. The tank comes off. Big beveled rubber grommet washer connects the flush valve to the hole in the sink. Take that off and you unscrew the giant plastic nut. Replace the parts. Now for the tricky part. You have to tighten the nuts back to put enough pressure on the giant rubber grommet. If you tighten one side two much, you can crack the porcelean tank. So, tighten alternating from nut on one side then the other.

How do you change the wheels on a Original hybrid 35 longboard?

Google Ans

im new to longboarding but the wheels i got with the board are getting chunked so i would like to get some new wheels but im not sure that if i bought them over the internet that i would know how to change them from my board so if you could explain it to me thhat would be great thanks and if you have any recomendations on what wheels to get id apreciate it thanks

Answer
okay no problem its pretty simple. Take off all the bolts keeping the wheels on, there will be 4. Then take out the bearings in the wheels by using the axles of your trucks to pry them out. This might sound confusing so it might help to look this part up on youtube. Its like you put the wheel back on halfway then turn it sideways and you'll feel the pressure pulling the bearing out.

Once you have all the bearings out, get your new wheels ready to be set up. Put a loose bearing on your axle, then press the wheel on top of it and it will be put in cleanly. Repeat this for all the bearings. Then put your wheels on and tighten them back down with the 4 bolts and you're good to go.

If you have speed rings, use them. They are little washers that help your wheels run smoother by reducing friction. One goes before your put the wheel on, and one after. So 2 per axle. Tighten your wheels enough so there is little to no slop but not too much so as to inhibit them from spinning freely. Good luck!

I also reccomend either purple or orange orangatang 4presidents. great wheels I have both

I have to go cheap on this so it looks like i'm going to be getting an a electric one. I saw a Black and Decker one that said 1600psi but a review said it normally is about 1250psi and not too good at removing paint. I have seen several Karthers at advertised 1400psi without that review. I also saw a 1500psi but forgot the brand name of it.

Answer
2500 PSI should do it, be extreamly careful not to gouge or cut the wood with the spray. Also you will need to let the wood dry for at least a week , of hot dry weather, so the paint will not peel off later. Do not be disapionted if you can't remove all of the paint, you will need to scrape and sand prior to priming. Good Luck!

how do i change the oil on a troy bilt pressure washer?

Randi M

I need help finding out where the oil plug is located on a troy bilt pressure washer model number 020344 before I can change the oil. I would like to do this before I use it this summer.
Thanks for any help.

Answer
The manual states you can change the motor oil from the top by tipping it over and drain it from the dipstick hole with the air clearer side up as you tip it. You can drain it from the bottom by removing drain plug with a ratchet and square extension, oil can be drained from engine bottom. Also you must change the pump oil every 50 hours or once a year according to the manual. To change the pump oil, use a 8mm allen wrench to remove black pump oil cap between high pressure outlet and garden hose inlet. I have this pressure washer and I change the oil from the bottom. There is no drain hole near the dipstick on mine

How effective is a pressure washer for an airgun?

CuteRobert

I would like to hear from anyone who has done it. If one loads a pressure washer gun-like handle with a steel ball projectile and connects it to a compressed air source and pulls the trigger to fire, will it cause a lot of damage? Could it be used as an airgun to destroy feathered critters ? Will the device allow enough volume of air to flow through it? How much air pressure would suffice?

Answer
First off, I will tell you that I have not tried this. What I can tell you is, I am an engineer and the engineer that designed the gun did not plan for this. The projectile could become lodged in the barrel, and possibly breech the side. You are looking at something with enough power to do serious damage and potentially kill you. Just spend $35 and buy a pump pellet gun. For pigeons I use tipped pellets.

My grandmother passed away recently and I was given her pressure washer... Someone stored it over the winter and it wouldn't start... Carb gummed up. Now it runs like a champ but as soon as I hook water to it it will run and then bog down quickly and die?? I'm good with engines but I don't know where to start with the pump? It's a lowes brand troy built 2550 psi 6hp gas powered model. I've started it a couple of times without the water but never more than a couple of seconds and it was purchased in November... But not properly stored. It looks bran new but I don't know what to do now.

Answer
The throttle speed might be set too low, set the throttle to high.

You might still have carburetor issues, be sure you have enough water feeding the pump.

How to quiet a small gas engine.?

tonymonton

I bought an 11HP Craftsman pressure washer. The engine is a Briggs and Stratton, Intek model. This is an awesome pressure washer. But, it sounds like a dragster (ok I'm exaggerating). I called Briggs tech support and they said they were working on a solution, but it may take 2 years. I will lose a lot of hearing in 2 years, and my neighbors may set my house on fire when I go on vacation (I'm still exaggerating).
I was thinking of running it in my garage with the doors closed and running extra hose. This would probably work, but the risk of Carbon Monoxide poisoning is too great to try it I guess.
So, does anyone know of a solution to this, aside from buying an electric model? I don't want to part with this machine. :(

Answer
Only way to quiet the exhaust is to fabricate a larger and thicker muffler or buy one that is larger that you can modify to fit the original bolt pattern and exhaust port size. I've done it on a few customers lawn equipment and with a skilled tech in welding is not that difficult although somewhat involved in layout and design. If the original muffler for the unit has a piece of pipe coming off it for exhaust, you could try attaching another muffler to it for say a small motorcycle or minibike of the same diameter pipe. Surprised the Briggs people would take that long to come up with a solution.
Another simpler solution is to build an insulated open-top box of plywood and foam insulation board to surround the washer with and direct the sound upwards---open top is necessary as it needs air flow to operate the engine or run it in a shed or garage if possible to deaden the noise. You'd have to ventilate the garage somehow or hook up a heat resistant hose to the exhaust and duct it outside with a blower like auto garages do.

How do I adjust the PSI on a DeWalt DP3750 Pressure Washer?

My husband was given a DeWalt Pressure washer, and the last time the guy used it, he decreased the PSI for a smaller job. I have been on the DeWalt website and I found nothing.

Answer
Hi Rachael, Iâm Ken with The Home Depot and work in the tools department. The DeWalt website states that the model you have is discontinued.

However you can get the manual for that model and it tells how to adjust the pressure.

It is located on page 10 of the manual. I have provided the link to get the manual. It will take about five minutes to download. Hope this helps.

pressure washer pump oil on Pressure Washer Pump Oil | Reviews | PROS & CONS |
pressure washer pump oil image

Mike

spark plug is removed,? engine has correct amount of oil. why is the cord not able to pull
Also, the discharge hose and garden hose are removed, no water pressure involved at all! Was running great the day before. Washed 10 x 15 ft deck. Next day ran for 5-10 minutes and stalled without any warning. If engine is seized, HOW did that happen? Oil is "full to line"....please what did i do wrong? This machine I borrowed from a friend and is it up to me to buy him a new one and be out 300 bucks with nothing to show for it but a clean deck? It is only about 12 hours old!

Answer
When mine did that it was from the water pressure that built up while sitting and not running. Pull the trigger on the gun to release pressure...worked for me. If that is not the problem your engine could have seized up.

what is the best pressure washer?

Pandora

Looking for a good gas cold water pressure washer for home use.

Answer
There are a couple different types of cold water, gas pressure washers out there. There are direct drive models, and there are belt drive models. The difference is as follows:

Direct Drive- These things are more efficient because they have no moving parts. the shaft from the motor is connected directly to the pump, so no belts or pulleys are required. These units are cheaper because they are simpler to build.

Belt Drive- These units use a belt and pulleys to connect the motor and the pump. This setup uses a few more parts, but is actually preferable to the direct drive units because they last longer. This is because a larger pulley can be used at the pump, causing the pump to run at a lower RPM than the motor. this is less straining on the pump, and will help your unit to last longer. Unfortunately, it is also more expensive.

For home use, I would go with a belt driven unit. If you are using the pressure washer less than 20 hours a week consistently, then it is not worth the added cost to get a belt driven unit. If you do a quick Google search, you will see that most sources recommend 3000 PSI for concrete, and that is more than enough for siding and decks (I'll put a link in my sources to a forum discussion on what pressure is needed for concrete). 3000 PSI is also enough to run a surface cleaner or rotary nozzle if you later decide that you want to speed up that driveway cleaning. I have heard it said that pressure cleans, but flow helps you clean it faster, so make sure that the machine you get has a decent GPM rating. A machine that is like 3000 PSI at 2 Gallons per minute will be perfect for what you need it for.

Note: I would get a machine with a Honda engine. They rarely have to be serviced, and after market parts are abundant online for cheaper repairs.

What is the Highest psi water pressure allowed in a residental home?

Deck

I just had a 14-year-old PRV valve replaced due to outside leaking ($800!!!) and the plumber set the psi at 60, which now takes twice as long to shower! He said legally he can only set it to 60 psi. I live in Ft. Worth, TX, and can not find any info on max allowed psi. It was at 80, which worked just fine.

Answer
A few things:

a) A PRV sets the *standing pressure*, not the operating pressure - unless the system is capable of providing pressure in excess of the set pressure at full flow - so unless you have a rather large water-service from a very high-pressure main - this is unlikely.
b) 80psi is very high for a standing pressure - high enough to damage tank-type water heaters, tempering valves, solenoid valves (washer, dishwasher, irrigation systems) and ball-cocks (toilets) and/or greatly shorten their operating lives. Keep this in mind before you raise your standing pressure.
c) If you have a code-compliant shower-head it has a flow-restricter on it anyway that limits the amount of flow irrespective of pressure. There will be no more/less water coming from the head at 60psi than 80psi. If you do not have a compliant shower-head, you should.

So, you may have another problem such as debris in the line that came loose when the PRV was replaced, or the curb-stop may not have been fully opened when the work was complete (or another valve in the system) or similar. Try removing the shower-head and cleaning out the flow-restrictor or checking the valves in the system.

Good luck with it.

My garden faucet leaks at the connection to the hose only while it is connected and turned on. I tried putting plumber's tape around it and also replaced the o-ring washer in the hose. It still sprays out of the connection. Assuming I try another hose on it and it still leaks, do I need to replace the garden faucet? What's wrong with it?

Answer
It would be wise to determine if as you suspect, if it is a defective hose end. If it is and the rest of the hose is worth it, they sell replacements that are not difficult to install. Before any of that though, be sure there is not a vacuum breaker on the hose bibb. You will know if there is by seeing little holes made into the brass body where your hose threads on. If you do have one, it's supposed to leak if it detects 'back pressure'. If you end up changing your lawn faucet, it may be sold as a hose bibb, boiler drain, or sill cock. All of this of course is based on the idea that the water leaking is coming from the hose thread connection. If it's leaking around the stem, the part that the handle is connected to, simply use a crescent type wrench to turn the 'packing nut' to the right while it,s leaking until it stops leaking. Good luck.

How to clean our wooden fence?

Sara

Hello,
We recently purchased our home and are about to move in. One of our main concerns in our gray and shabby fence. How do we clean and seal it?

Can we rent a pressure washer from home depot or something? or should we let a professional do the job? Also how much would it cost?

Thanks!

Answer
The reason your fence is grey is because it's cedar. It starts off salmon colored, and slowly fades to gray. The inside might still have some of the coppery orangy colored wood, but maybe not. If the wood has deep grain grooves, then it's become brittle and those bits need to be replaced.

Otherwise, this is just the way cedar fences look. The important thing is to make sure the wood is stable. Any wooden posts should be pushed on to make sure they're not broken off at the ground. The back sides of fences should be checked to make sure the support boards are not rotted out at the ends.

Any loose nails or screws should be replaced. Make sure not to use too long of a fastener, otherwise, you could be liable for any injury of someone bumping into the pointy end on the other side of the fence.

If you have to do too much work, you may want to simply replace the fence, but I find for an old fence, I replace one post and three support boards every 2-5 years. I have 20 sections and one gate.

If you do replace the fence, go with galvanized steel posts because they'll last 50 years or more. If you already have the steel posts, then this is great and will save some time and cost on replacement.

If you're keeping the fence, and it's strong and secure, then here's what I would do.

You can use the solution recommended for vinyl siding. A quarter cup detergent, a quarter cup chlorine bleach, and a gallon of water. Put this in a garden sprayer and coat the whole fence with it. Obviously, don't wear good clothes since you're working with bleach.

This will kill any mildew and you can use a spray hose to rinse off any dirt and crud.

If you want to preserve it a bit, let it dry well before attempting to paint or seal it. You can use any sort of deck seal with UV protection. Some of these will have a stain in them which will help cover up the grey. Otherwise, you could use an outdoor, oil based paint. You can use rollers or paint brushes, but it's slow going. A sprayer will get between the boards better and be faster, but you'll end up painting your lawn, a few trees, etc if you're not careful.

Darker colors will make the wood heat up more, so a light colored fence paint is the safest for long-term health.

The only problem is that you may not be able to get into neighbor's yards to paint the back of the fence. Without that, it won't be sealed, and the paint will start peeling in a year or two.

If you DO replace the fence, you can buy pre-stained, pre-sealed fences. Some are pressure treated too, or you can get only PT and not sealed. PT is greenish for a couple of years, and will turn grey after that, but won't rot nearly as quickly. The sealed fence will look "new" longer, but will require re-sealing from time to time unless the stain is pressured in (rare).

Q. I`m 17 years old,and i want to know is there any way to earn some money, because i need around 500euros to buy a keyboard, but i don`t have money for that.....Any answer will be appreciated....thanks
I`m from Serbia

Answer
1) Print first aid information on a single page. Include phone numbers for hospitals and national numbers such as the poison control center. Sell them door-to-door. Since you are located it a tough area, you might even inclued the number for a local UN representative.

2) Speak with neighbors. Offer to clean around, and under, the washer and dryer, with special emphasis on getting out the built-up dust in the dryer's exhaust vent. Include information from your local fire department about the risk of fire from accumulated lint now remaining in the vent tube.

3) Look up stocks that have paid dividends every year for over eighty years. I assume there is a stock market operating somewhere over there, so stock brokers are in need of clients. This means they have paid through recessions and the big depression. Sell this information to adults as a news service. (If you try to offer investment advice, you will be breaking the law. This information should be sold as news.)

4) Call investment professionals in your area, if there are any. Call life insurance salesmen in your area, too. That is, if companies will still write policies over there. Offer to clip the press releases printed in your local papers (especially the business press). Tape each release to a single sheet of binder paper. Look up the phone number of the person in that news release. Sell the information to one agent for five dollars per person after he makes his first sale; one dollar per person before that first sale. You can even raise the price to ten dollars per person after the third sale. This payment arrangement offers the salesman the opportunity to earn from your efforts without going broke. It also allows you to establish a clientele.

5) Learn how to set a sprinkler system timing clock. Go door-to-door offering to re-set the clocks as the seasons change. Keep the names handy, as you will return every quarter for resets. Fifty clients once each quarter, youngster, and you can start making plans for college.

6) Offer to drain the hot water heater of the sediment. Since one of the chief causes of HWH failure is the build-up of the sediment, you can save your clients from replacing their water heaters soon. You can also offer to leave an inexpensive hose attached to the drain valve. Then, when you return every six months, you only need take the far end of the low pressure hose out of the garage, turn on the spigot, and let five gallons out. Leave that thin hose extended and against the wall of the garage.

7) Offer to read a chapter of the Holy Bible to families in the area. They can even work in the kitchen, as an example, while you read.

OK. You have a few of my thoughts. And a little bit of my humor.

Are there any jobs in Portland, Oregon NE for teenagers?

Markila

I'm 14, and I would like to have a job. Except I don't know any where. I've asked people older than me, but they've said no. Thank you for any answers!

Answer
Currently, unemployment is at a very high rate: about 8.5% officially in Oregon and realistically around 23% nationwide. There are many adults, parents, college graduates, artists, and others who want to work but who cannot find enoughâor any at all. This makes almost every "entry level" job to be in high demand: employers can expect high standards for new employees because many people are available.

Unfortunately, you are subject to minimum wage which means that anyone who employs you must pay at least minimum wage which is $8.95 per hour (in Oregon) since January 1st. While many people believe that minimum wage is a good idea, yours is a prime example of how it hurts workers. Unless you have valuable skills, no one is inclined to pay an inexperienced, unskilled worker that much. Maybe receiving $5 per hour for office gopher would be fine with you and many potential employers would gladly pay that for certain kinds of work. However, that rate of pay is illegal.

There are several things you can do to earn some money and circumvent the minimum wage law. Babysitting and mowing lawns are time-honored teenage work. Offer to mow lawns near where you live for a reasonable amountâlike $10 for a small yard, and $40 for a huge one. This time of year many people with houses do outdoor chores which are a strain for middle age and older adults: rototilling, spreading mulch, pulling stumps, fertilizing, sowing new lawns, cleaning roofs and driveways.

If you have access to a power washer, rototiller, or garden tools and are willing to do this kind of work, go door to door at the nicer houses which could use some work and ask. Bid an enticing fixed price upfront for the work: "Hello, my name is Joe and I noticed your vegetable garden could use rototilling and preparation for Spring seeding. I am willing to do that for $15. How about it?"

Expect to hear "no" a lot with this approach, so keep trying. It is sometimes hard to know if you are asking too much or if they really don't need the work doneâor maybe they don't like something about you or your appearance. If you get a long streak of "no" (like ten in a row), ask a few what you can do to win their business.

To get any repeat businessâthe very best kindâbe sure you know what you are doing. Damaging tools, blowing little holes in driveways with a pressure washer, mowing flowerbeds, or making the sod lumpy are not going to make happy customers. Be sure to ask someone knowledgeable (like your parents or parents of friends) for instructionâmaybe formal lessonsâfor things you do not know well.

How can i tell what pressure my pressure washer is at?

pressure washer gun on Replacement Pressure Washer Gun
pressure washer gun image

N/A

I have a 3800 psi dewalt pressure washer and im wanting to turn it down to about 3000-3300 psi but im not sure to tell what psi im at while turning the pressure down.
If anyone could help me out id appreciate it!
Thanks!

Answer
What you would have to do is connect a pressure gauge between the end of the hose and the gun. Run the pressure washer with the gun's trigger pressed so there's water flow and check the pressure it is shooting water. To adjust it to the pressure you want you can either use the unloader to regulate pressure or adjust the engine's rotation which would also regulate pressure.
If you need a gauge here is the link to a 5000 psi one. There are more on the website in case you think this one is too much.

How do you make a snow machine with a pressure washer and an air compressor?

How do you make a snow machine with a pressure washer and an air compressor?

Answer
You can still do it but dont expect to do much skiing on it. The big guns up North are fed by fire hoses and high, I mean high pressure air. As long as the water is atomized and you have some air pressure to force it into the freezing air, below 32 will make the kids happy and yourself too. Gets better when the temp is closer to 20f. . You can change your screen name to Attitash 2. Enjoy winter, you gotta love the winter and New Englang. If your from the Rockies better luck next year BOSOX Rock

Im going to start finishing off my basement. I need to strip the old paint off the basement cement block walls so I can add a waterproofer. What is the best way to get the old paint off? It appears to be a couple layers at least. Ive tried a good paint stripper from Menards but it still isn't coming off that easy. Any suggestions? (It is NOT lead paint)

Im just looking for something that may be quicker....

Answer
I've had pretty good luck with zip strip in the past though I have never tried it on block. I would try that letting it sit for about ten minutes then hit it with a pressure washer.

What is a simple way for me to make quick money?

I am 17 and just graduated high school. i graduated a year early so i am using this year to try and move out and get a car.I am an artist and i do palm readings & numerology readings. but i am open to any ideas. i have a job at bath and body works but they only give $8 an hour and i only get 10-20 hours a week. any suggestions please help!?!?

Answer
i personally mow lawns during the summer i charge 25 for lawns(mowing edging) and 30 for corner lawns and average about 10 lawns a day.

i also pressure wash which is a really good way to earn money. you can either charge like $11 dollars per hour on what they want you to do or just charge certain amounts for what they want to do. what i do is i call up the best known pressure washer in the phone book ask for thier prices and beat that price by like a couple dollars. it's a full day job, but its worth it.

thats all i can think of. oh yea! life guarding pays good too so does swim lessons there is always rich white parents wanting thier kids to know everything. 300 for a group of 5 per week(2 lessons per week) is not so bad.
