high pressure washer has very little pressure?

2400 psi....used to have to hold the gun with both hands now I just go along with one hand on the nozzle and it takes FOREVER to clean just the walkway and I have to practically touch the cement to get it really good. There is a white, green, red, and yellow attachment. The red works really well but is pin point (draw your name type) and would take a REALLY REALLY long time to do anything. Any suggestions. I'm obviously not very technical so I would appreciate detailed information please and Thank YOu Very Much!!!! Engine runs fine just little pressure.
It's gas powered if that makes a difference lol

This could be several things....possibly the seals, or you may need to check the pump oil. Go to Sears, they sell pump oil, as well as several products designed to lubricate the pump and clean it as well. The attachments you describe are the different nozzle tips for various spray patterns. Do you run any chemicals through the unit?? If so - make sure that they are approved for this type of use, and NEVER run bleach through the unit (unless you thoroughly flush it out afterwards). You might also want to carefully dis-assemble the wand and make sure that there are no mineral deposits blocking anything. Check the water inlet screen (where you attach the hose, there should be a screen) make sure it's not clogged or blocked. Finally, consider using a chemical to "help" the pressure washer do it's job....for concrete, Home Depot carries gallon sizes of "Rust Aid" - use a pump-up garden sprayer, apply the Rust-Aid, let it "work" for 5 or 10 minutes then blast it off with the pressure washer.

What you would have to do is connect a pressure gauge between the end of the hose and the gun. Run the pressure washer with the gun's trigger pressed so there's water flow and check the pressure it is shooting water. To adjust it to the pressure you want you can either use the unloader to regulate pressure or adjust the engine's rotation which would also regulate pressure.

Pressure test failed, plumbing?

We are going to buy a foreclosed home. On condition report , it says pressure test failed and washer connector broken. Bank wont allow us to turn on water to inspect for leaks. Is this a risky buy, since we cant test plumbing. Is there any other good way to test the plumbing? what could worst happen if the pressure test has always failed?

If you have an air compressor you can hook it to one faucet, Put a pressure gauge on another faucet and open both faucets to pressure check the system. Once the compressor shuts off (system pressurized) close the faucet with the compressor and watch the pressure gauge to see if it holds it's reading. If it drops you have a leak. With air in the system leaks can be detected by using a spray bottle of soapy water to spray connections. Leaky connections will make bubbles.

Best Buy Hot Water Pressure Washer?

I need to purchase a hot water pressure washer for commercial use.
I am looking at several options, but I am not sure what to look for: engine, brand, PSI, HP and etc..
I am looking at an interesting offer on ebay for a china made engine pressure washer for $2585 shipped. It looks nice, but I am not sure if that China engine will be reliable. On the other hand if I look for Honda engine HWPW I will probably have to sacrifice the 4500 PSI with less and will eventually pay more than $2600..

Here is my suggestion --- take it for what it's worth, which is speculation. Unless someone has purchased such a washer and knows....everyone can only 'speculate'.

So....if this is your first washer, and you're using it for business purposes, buy one locally. Pay the money and get one with a warranty from a company that looks like they will be in business at least for one year (yeah I know). That way if anything happens, you can take it there and let them deal with it and get it back quickly. Otherwise you run the risk of having something happen, then taking it somewhere and no one being familiar with it and either you're waiting forever for parts, or paying thru the nose for labor...or both and being without it for who knows how long.

After you buy your first one and you're good......then go buy one off ebay, then if anything happens, you're covered. If it turns out to be a good deal, then buy another one, but for the first one...for business....buy local.

Are you talking about a pressure washer? There are pressure washers used primarily by commercial companies that do in fact provide hot water, but these are very expensive. Regular cold water pressure washers come in a variey of psi levels, usually starting in at around 1,500 psi for an electric one, and around 2,000 psi for a gas powered one. The higher the psi, the more cleaning capability it has. The trick is to use a chemcial designed for the task you are doing, allow the chemical to "work", then rinse it off with your pressure washer. Far too many people rely on water pressure alone, which (depending on what it is that you're cleaning) may or may not do the job. For example, for vinyl siding, soffit and fascia, etc. I've used a mixture of bleach and liquid Spic 'n Span in a pump-up garden sprayer. Put a good amount of each in the sprayer, slowly add water then apply the mixture to the house. Allow it to work for 10 minutes or so, then follow up with a good pressure washer rinse. This kills the "critters", mold, mildew, and removes the dirt etc. For my painted concrete driveway, and brickwork around the house, I use "Rust-Aid" which is available at Home Depot. Apply full strength, allow it to work, then blast it off with the pressure sprayer.

Yea you can definately rent a pressure washer. I'm guessing you dont live in downtown detroit so i dont know where to tell you to go. My best advice is to grab your yellow pages and look under rentals. You can rent it for a few hours for dirt cheap. It is easy to do as well as long as you don't mind getting a little dirty. You can buy some soap that you can spray onto the house and then hook up the presssue washer and spray off the house. If you want to get a contractor to do it i would say go to yahoo! and in the search page type and type:

pressure washing + (your city),mi

Then click the link just down from the top that says local results for pressure washing near (your city),mi. It will have a list in order of distance from closest to farthest and a way to contact them... hope this helps!

What is too much psi for a pressure washer as I don't want to rip the siding off but need to clean deep oil stains off of concrete?

I am buying a pressure washer soon and REALLY need advice on which one to buy.

I want it to last as I don't want to waste my hard earned dollars but I don't want to purchase one that is more powerful than I need (as the price goes up with power).

Anyone out there with experience, advice or recommendations? Please be informative.....I know nothing!!

Pressure washers come with a few different tips. If you want to clean a larger area or more delicate surface, choose a tip that makes a wider spray. If you want really concentrated cleaning in a small spot on a tough surface, choose a narrower tip. And as Bob says, holding the tip further from the surface results in less pressure hitting the surface.

I have a 2200 psi gas pressure washer and find it works quite well on a variety of surfaces around the house. I had an electric one before, 1300 psi, and found it practically useless. It was so poor that I threw it away when I moved, even though it still worked. I didn't want to inflict it on anyone else.

You probably got a seal gone in it.If it was a cheap unit I'de say s#itcan it.But Honda is a good one,so take it in for repair.I've got a 1300 lb. Wald-Mart special that giving me trouble,and I'm junking it.

Water Pressure Regulator going bad?

About every couple days I turn the shower on or the faucet on and fine no water coming out. If I tap on my water pressure regulator I hear a hiss and the water pressure comes back in full. Why does this happen every couple days? Is there an adjustment or should it be replaced? Thanks

Sounds like the screen (filter) in your PRV is clogged. You can definitely take it apart and clean or replace parts but it's really not worth doing that unless it's a larger PRV. You can get a new 3/4" PRV for less than a hundred bucks. I say it's not worth it because you can open up a can of worms trying to repair it ie. finding parts, washers bad, bolts hard to remove etc. Next thing you know you have no water or have to bypass the PRV till the parts show up.

A licensed plumber will charge anywhere between $250 to $500 to replace this, that is with him coming out troubleshooting it, going and getting the parts, returning and installing.

You could save money by supplying all the parts yourself but most plumbers won't guarantee parts supplied by the customer.

You could try doing it yourself with a combination of threaded fittings and unions. Just make sure when you order the valve that you order unions with IP threads. Don't use pipe dope on the union gaskets.

Cold water pressure up, hot water press down in sink?

I'm have a strange thing happen in one of my two master bathroom sinks. A few background notes first.

1) I re-piped my house about 2 months ago
2) This sink is where the return valve is for the recirculating pump
3) They did NOT replace the valves in this sink

Everything had been normal until yesterday when I noticed the sink was dripping out of the faucet very slowly. I tried to twist the cold water valve tighter but still it would drip. Today I noticed that all of the sudden the water pressure / flow that I'm getting when I have the cold side on has increased but when I turn the hot water on the pressure / flow has decreased. I'm trying to figure out if I have a bad valve or if something is wrong with the recirculating valve bypass thing?

The other sink in the master bathroom is working totally fine and normal.

Thoughts?

It sounds like the soldering paste used to solder has found its way up to your hot water valve or beyond to the faucet If your up to it shut the valve take apart the supply up to the faucet bend it over to flush out into a bucket turn on water fill bucket If your pressure is OK the problem is in the faucet behind the washer take apart and clean

Clogged drain from kitty litter? Please help!?

Okay guys I really, really need some help. A while ago, my little sister placed the kitty box in the jacuzzi bathtub, and now it has a clog. Long story short I have tried Draino and other liquids to undo it but nothing's worked. Now we are moving out, and I have been reading other questions like this asked by other people and I am praying to God that there is a solution that is not so drastic.Is there any sort of chemical or other thing that would dissolve it? Or what is this snake thing I read about? Please, please help. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Chemicals will not do it. Two possible solutions. If you have a garden hose and can get it down there.. or even better a pressure washer.. try that first... it may force it through. If not, then a snake is needed. Don't dispair. Every Home Depot has one and they are not so much $$. It is basically a long flat piece of metal on a reel, much like a super stiff tape measure, that you stick into the pipe and jam around until you break up the clog. Also, sometimes you need to get a snake you can attach to a drill so you can kinda drill out the clog. You will be fine as long as the clog is not too far down the pipe.

I live in NE OK and have a sunny acre. I went out to mow last week and found holes everywhere. They were anywhere from 3 to 5 inches in diameter and some as close together as 5 inches. I saw some holes that looked like a tunneling effect, but no dirt mounds were beside them. For instance: one hole 3 inches in diameter would have an identical hole 4 inches from it and 4 more inches away in a straight line I would find another, and another. My whole acres is full of holes. I don't want to go out there with my cool environmentally awesome push reel mower and get snake bit to death, you know? Are these simply field mice? I am not scared of a mouse. Are they wasps? I am terrified of wasps. I know one thing: They aren't stuffed easter bunnies from Walmart and I will not find hidden Easter Eggs in these holes.

Moles, skunks, ground hogs, take your pick. All can carry rabies and it seems like you are infested.

They seem to big for snakes. Field mice also would not have such big holes, and wasps like to be up off the ground.

Here are some things to try, they sound cruel, but again, these animals are nasty pests and many do carry rabies, so if I had kids in particular I would want them gone gone gone.

1) By a BIG container of mothballs and throw a few in every hole.
2) By rat poison and put it in every hole (don't know how much you hate them, but it sounds like a nuisance)
3) Put a hose in the holes (or even better a pressure washer) and see what comes scurrying out.
4) There are some ultra sonic pest control devices you can use, but I think your problem is too big right now. Play really nasty now, and then try the product shown below; they worked for us, but we didn't have that many holes, only a few but they did work. Depends on how nice you want to be to these creatures.

Trying to start this pressure washer (water hose was hooked up and everything), got it to start and it ran for about 10 seconds before it just stopped, sounded like the line was pushing water and getting stuck somewhere cause when I went to restart it the pull start was hard as a rock and when I finally pulled it something blew and water was coming out the bottom around the outlet tube, I had everything hooked up right I just wanna know if there is something else that would cause this

This is typically caused by a build up of pressure in the pump. Depending
on the pump on the washer, that build can be caused by a bad unloader or
even a stuck check valve. Please do not run the unit without the water
running, doing this can cause the internal parts of the pump to overheat
and possible become damaged. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer
of the pressure washer for a parts break down on the pump. Typically the
unloader and the check valves are simple to replace.

High pressure washers tend to be more efficient in removing dirt/bugs/etc from your vehicle during the initial rinse. It reduces the probability of your vehicle being scratched by dirt during the soap application period. These are usually used at Car Wash locations.

Garden hoses are convenient, but use a lot more water with less force.

To give a power comparison, the regular household water pressure in the front yard is about 60psi... The pressure washer usually operates at 1500-3500 psi. Touching the spray of a pressure washer with your hand might cause severe damage.

i just got my first nice car from the dealer and it's soo nice i want it to stay that way. i'm going to polish and wax it however many times i need to. Will pressure washing wear away at the polish and wax faster than handwashing? if so, i'd rather wash by hand but i don't know much about car washing.

You don't need to use a pressure washer, but if you do use one then don't use it too close to the car. It may damage your car. I'll tell you everything you need to know:

- Have 2 buckets: one for soapy water and one to rinse the sponge after using it. This stops the soapy water getting dirty.
- If you drop the sponge use another one. The stone chips will damage your paint.
- Don't polish your car too often. Polish is an abrasive and strips a thin layer of your paint off. Just use it maybe once a year.
- If you get a lot of tar drops on your bumpers you can use "clay" to remove it. I only do this once a year too.
- The MAIN thing is wax. I'll explain why. Wax builds a layer on top of your paint and seals it. It also gives it an amazing shine. After you wax you will notice the next time you wash the car the sponge glides over the paint so easily because dirt won't stick. What you will also notice is with regular waxing is that even just with a quick wash your car will shine. So you don't need to wax after every wash. In summer I wax once a month. In winter I only wax every 2-3 months.

Oh yeah and about products. If you are going to polish your car I recommend Triplewax Polish. I always use Meguiars clay once a year too. For wax, I use Simoniz Diamond Hard Wax. You can also use more pricey stuff like Carnauba wax. Oh yeah and if you have nice wheels you can wax them too! It just gives them a better shine and a little protection.

d-log home washing with pressure washer?

There are a number of cleaners you can use on your log home, but keep in mind that it's always good practice to start with the least caustic cleaner and work your way up from there, based on need. If you're just looking to do a good cleaning for maintenance purposes, a sodium percarbonate cleaner (oxygenated bleach) will usually do the trick. If you're needing to remove a stain or finish of some sort, it might take something stronger, depending on the type of stain and the condition it's in. (I'd have to know more details before I could give you more direction...) Most deck cleaners are stronger than you need for general cleaning purposes but can sometimes be the right thing to use if you're wanting to remove a stain.

No matter what you use, you need to make sure you VERY THOROUGHLY rinse and/or neutralize whatever you put on there. Residual chemicals left on the wood can damage the lignin (cell glue) in the wood and lead to loose wood fibers. These loose wood fibers will eventually fall off and take anything applied over it (caulk, stain, etc.) with it, so you want to be sure your surface is free of any of this before moving forward with applying other products.

on pressure washers the PSI is not as important as the GPM (gallons per minute) so look for pressure washers that have a higher GPM rating. also you adjust the PSI by changing nozzles. make sure there are a variety of nozzles avaliable or the nozzle itself is adjustable. this ensures a wide variety of uses. you would want low pressure to say clean exterior of house vs clean car or driveway. a typical car wash uses 500 to 700 psi. you can find them at sears, lowes, home depot, harbour freight and many auto parts store.

Karcher 2500 pressure washer pulsating?

I have been working on a karcher 2500 pressure washer I got in a garage sale. I have taken down the pump and replaced some of the valves and the spill valve. The hose it came with was cracked, but I didn't get a new one until I thought I could get every thing working. Once the pump was put back on it ran fine with the cracked up, but the pressure was lower than I thought it should be. I figured it must be the hose causing my pressure problems, so I got a new one. Ever since I put the new hose on the pressure wash pulsates (It has full pressure for a second or two then it loses pressure for a second or two.) Any ideas what could be causing this?

This should be an easy fix. The unloader valve is sticking....quite a common problem for Karcher machines. On the top of the pump you will find a black plastic cover with a chrome button on top of it. Pry the button off and lift the black plastic cap off. You'll find two star or hex screw under it....remove these and carefully lift the plastic retainer up. You are now looking at the unloader valve assembly. You'll need needle nose pliers to to remove it. Look down into it and you will see a tab to clamp the pliers onto. Gently twist it pulling up slightly at the same time. Once you have it out, clean it and apply some silicone grease to it and replace it. Put everything back together the way you took it apart and your done.

For cars only you simply need a 2000 psi..You definately want one with a ohc engine on it..not the common mower type engine...Most "honda" engines on pressure washers are ohc's (overhead cams)..get one that has a gun that has exchangeable tips and not the ones that you twist the heads to adjust it...these bend and clog up and require buuying a whloe new gun... 5 hp is plenty good..3,5 actually for just cars will

I took apart my pressure washer pump and gear oil has spilled all over. How do I reassemble?

I took apart my Karcher K2400HH pressure washer pump unit from the engine and now gear oil is all over on the ground. I think I took the whole pump unit out and now I need to reassemble it back again. How do I put it back together, where do I fill the oil back in and what type of gear oil should I use? I had the same problem with a Generac Model No 1537 2400PSI washer.!!! This unit has a 5.5 HP Honda engine.
I'm a builder, and one of my customers gave me this pressure washer after he had problems with it. Seems he left it with the gas in it for years and gummed up the carb. He told me his daughter ran it without the water turned on and burned up the pressure pump. He bought a new pump, but had no idea how to replace it. When I removed the old pump, I had a flood of oil on the garage floor. The new pump was a Briggs and Stratton kit #193473GS, and did not have the wet bearings of the original. It bolted right up to the bottom of the engine and works like a charm.. It took a little cleaning with Gum-out to get the engine running, but now it works fine.
I remember that there was a drain plug on the side of the pump shaft housing, but nowhere in the service manual did it tell you what weight oil went in there ,or how much.

How can you adjust the PSI from a pressure washer?

I am looking into purchasing a pressure washer for various uses, they are pretty affordable from what I can tell, however for a few applications I need a level of pressure around 1200, no higher. If I use any higher there may be damage done by the water. Is it possible a pressure wand can have an adjustable max pressure? Or perhaps just being careful enough to keep the nozzle far away enough?

Many pressure washers seem to be in the 1500-2000 PSI range.

My parents craftsmen pressure washer has a 2400psi max pressure. However the wand is adjustable so the spray can be more or less concentrated depending on what you need. Also the engine has a throttle control. "Turtle" speed makes a good bit less pressure than "rabbit" speed. Also the water loses pressure very fast once it exits the wand so just holding it back a bit will be enough. Hope this helped.

Im going to be repainting the exterior of my house soon and i need to get a pressure washer to clean and remove loose paint. I know i need to get a gas one because electric wont cut it. What psi will be enough to get the job done? I found a decent deal on craigslist for a 2600 psi pressure washer but is that enough for what i want to do or should i be looking into buying or renting a 3000 plus psi?

Any pressure washer will do the job...even the electric ones. The higher pressure will remove the paint quicker but will increase the possibility of damage to the surface. There is a definite technique to using pressure washers for removing paint. You need to be aware of the damage you could do before you start. Make sure you read and understand ALL instructions before you start and practice on a piece of old scrap before you start on the house. Kick back from the nozzle could be a real surprise when you are on the top of a ladder.

If I connect 2 pressure washer pumps to a motor, will I get double the output????? help?

ok here is the situation, I have two 3000PSI pressure washer pumps, and a gas engine, If I took both and connected them to the motor, supplied enough water flow and used a coupler to join the output on both, will I get 6000psi of water pressure or will I end up creating back pressure and possibly damaging the pums, or will I get killed in the process.

I hope someone with an engeniering degree reads this, maybe I can get a valid answer. oh and forgive me for my spelling disaster here....he he he

Pressure does not add up like that. If both pumps put out 3000 psi then the pressure would be 3000 psi.

If there was a large difference in pressures between the two pumps, you could create some back pressure for the smaller pump, this pump would back up on its pump curve and its output gpm would go down. If it is to great a pressure difference for the pump, the pump could spin or even cavitate which then could cause problems.

But, you have one motor connecting to 2 washers, you might not even get 3000 psi since the horsepower from that motor is being shared since the motor is now seeing twice the load. Check what the motor HP is and what HP is required by each washer.

My pressure washer has a 5 horsepower motor and creates about 200 psi. The short answer is that car starter motors create 5 to 10 hp for a short while but get hot fast. One battery will do the job for a very short while. The easier way is to use an electric washer, convert the 12 vdc to 120vAC with an inverter and wash away. The amount of batteries will depend on how long you want to operate at high pressure. The more the better. Can you buy such a pump, sure, convert a small home electric unit. Another good source for this stuff is West Marine, check their website and they have a great tech staff and no I don't work there.

Aluminum cannot handle high pressure all that well as you have seen. It will handle 2900 PSI if the wall thickness is thick enough. My guess is your first tube burst at the bend. Bending the metal will weaken it. Aluminum is not very ductile (bendable) so it tends to fracture easily when it is bent. You will have this problem even with a thicker wall tube.

Stainless steel would be far stronger and with the right wall thickness could easily handle the pressure and bending. The BIG drawbacks are the it is very hard and not easy to bend and also is very heave compared to aluminum. A 16 ft piece of 1/8" wall tubing would weigh more than 40 lbs. Not something you want to lug around all day.

The only thing I know that is light enough and strong enough is composite materials. They cannot be bent after they are laminated up so the bend would have to be part of the manufacturing process. Very, very expensive.

Cleaning gutters/ siding SAFELY?

This weekend, a teenage boy and his mom (me!) will be on the roof cleaning leaves out of gutters, scrubbing the gutters themselves (algae) and using a powerwasher on siding.

We have a multi-level roof, and will be standing on a lower portion while cleaning the upper-level gutters at about head-height.

What safety equipment should I consider?

A friend who worked as a painter would set an empty bucket at the end of his scaffold platform, so that he would kick it BEFORE he walked off the end. So, I'll do that, but what else?
Algae is on the outside of the gutters (from a year of the house sitting empty, and the gutters overflowing regularly)

We will be installing plastic gutter guards/ screens while we are up there, too. (Good ideas!)

If they are inexperienced on a roof, tie a safety rope to them and to a place that will hold them in case they do fall, they can grab it. It is a cheap way to save a leg.
If the roof is steep, they will need it anyway, but if not, that should be sufficient.
Also, be careful not to stream the pressure washer too fine, or it will pit the siding. A nice wide stream should do the job.

It's pretty much going to be a really high pressure water gun. One tank will be filled with air, the other with water. Voiding the certification doesn't matter much to me, because I can fill them at home.

CO2 has a vapor pressure of 830psi@ room temperature. The bottles require periodic recertification, or they can't be refilled. Any modification voids certification.

I should admit that I'm unfamiliar with the hydraulic principles of nozzles and jets, but
I did attempt to retrofit a 3500psi pressure washer for spraying tall trees. The result was complete failure. A 60 psi garden hose produced a better stream. A sprayer designed for the purpose produced a 50' vertical stream with 100 psi. I suspect that 850psi CO2 would create artificial snow.
Try some research before you begin. I'll check further on this myself.

PPS: It looks like excess pressure will cause a solid stream to break into droplets.
There seems to be a balance between pressure, volume, and laminar flow (solid stream).
I'm adding two sources with general ideas.
CO2 bottles come with a variety of fittings (all of which are pricey for experimentation).
A discarded 20 lb.Propane tank will safely hold 100psi compressed air.
Pressures over 100 psi require several gpm to prevent atomizing.

Most household water pressure falls between 60 -80 PSi, with some getting as high as 100 PSI.
Unless you have an unusually high pressure pump or supply source, virtually all common GHT nozzles will handle your service.

Garden Hose is usually rated for between 150 PSI and 250 PSI Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP).

There are commercial hose products that utilize long shank commercial GHT (Garden Hose Thread) couplings that might be able to exceed 250 PSI MAWP, but would not be likely to be found in your situation.

There are special nozzles, used in the Fire Equipment Industry, that are capable of handling higher pressures, but these are so expensive as to be absurd for your use.

You cannot get more pressure out of the system than goes into it.
When you restrict the flow at the nozzle outlet, by using a smaller orifice (outlet hole) you minimize the pressure drop that occurs and you will have the effect of more force, but at the expense of REDUCED FLOW.

Dixon Valve's "Adjust-a-Power" Nozzle is used by forest firefighters to achieve better reach and minimize water usage. It is also widely used as a "sweeper" nozzle for removing debris.

Short of getting a real pressure washer, or getting a special nozzle that requires an air compressor to boost the pressure from you hose, this is the best thing for "hitting" power, but it will not let you put out the volume of water a regular Garden hose nozzle will.

Nelson is a fine company, however realize that the "300% more water flow than a standard nozzle" is ONLY possible when you have the 250 PSI pressure at the nozzle inlet. The increase is mostly due to the higher flow rate at 250 PSI vs 100 PSI.

Putting a high volume nozzle on a smaller diameter hose will somewhat starve the nozzle, resulting in a reduced outlet pressure, and "hitting" power of the stream.

If a high flow rate is your requirement then you should go with the 3/4" Hose.

If you opt for a lower volume nozzle then the 5/8" hose might suffice.

Make sure which ever hose you get is rated for the applications working pressure.

Recommended PSI for Gas Pressure Washer cleaning Car and garage door?

Hi, I recently bought a 2600 PSI Gas Pressure washer but I haven't used it yet, I plan on using it today but I have a couple of questions. I have a foam lance (a foamer gun) for washing cars,what PSI should I use when the foam gun is attached to it to wash my car? Also, my garage doors are dirty, what psi should I use to clean them and avoid chipping the paint on them?

William B is right. High pressure nozzles can strip off the paint. It can also remove the clear coat. If you use higher pressure keep the nozzle far away from the surface. Remember too these high pressures can cut through skin and even cut fingers and toes off.

Will a 1750PSI attachment fit in an 1800PSI Pressure Washer?

I just purchased used 1800 PSI pressure washer but I did not come with a variable lance, or a turbo lance. After doing some research I found a kit (in my price) which includes both the attachments and also comes with a new gun and a hose. But the only problem is that the max pressure is 1750 PSI for this kit. I was wondering if this kit will work with my 1800PSI pressure washer. I have attached a link below for the website.

There is not a problem with the small pressure difference.
Pressure washers are advertised with a Maxiumum pressure rating but that only really applies to the best possible operating conditions.
As soon as the jet leaves the lance, the effective pressure is reduced. At the tip the pressure is enough to cut through soft materials but 5m away you will just get wet.
The only proviso is making sure the accessories fit the gun, but as you have chosen a complete kit there should not be any problem.

I'm looking for a pressure washer that I can use for cement driveways, decks, etc. I also am looking to get a flat surface cleaner. I have tried looking on the Costco since I heard they sold some website but I couldn't find them. I also don't want a junk piece of plastic. Thanks for the help.

You won't find a commercial grade pressure washer for less then $900. Anything with a pump that mounts underneath the motor is considered a home owner use pressure washer and won't hold up to consistent use. Plus when they do breakdown, they are more expensive to fix than what you paid for them.

Grainger sells Mi-T-M, which is a quality pressure washer. Home Depot's sells a high end Dewalt pressure washer with a Cat Pump.

Do research and talk to your local pressure washer distributor to make sure you get a quality machine.

well like cat says they have nine lives lol. you can just run it to churn it up and then drain it out. fill with new oil and run it again until warm and drain again. fill once more and you should be fine i think. cat pumps are pretty tough i hear.

I work on pressure washers for a living and see this daily! It's just an "O-Ring" has split and is allowing water to leak out. Find the o-ring that isn't an "O" but more of a "C" and replace it, problem solved! Sears has o-ring kits in the stores with several sizes of o-rings in it. Use the instructions included to select the right ring!

Depends on many factors and I would stay away from cheapest price. Try to find a contractor accredited with the Power Washers of North America and find examples of similar jobs from them to see their workmanship.

Factors that will effect the price are:

1) substrate - vinyl cladding homes are easier to clean than a brick home
2) level of dirty
3) access - if the house is difficult to access some parts this will take longer
4) degree of difficulty - It may be a large house with gables which will require high ladder work.

You may as well may a little extra to get the job done correctly.

Do not use over 1300 psi on your deck - higher pressures will raise the wood grain. Your siding can take a higher pressure but use the 1300 psi unit (these are available at Lowes/HD etc.) with a cleaner appropriate for you siding.

Remember units with high pressure, say over 2,000 psi can be very dangerous if the direct stream comes in contact with the body.

it might need a larger size inlet hose to provide more water flow. if you are using an extension cord on it the wire gauge is not large enough.

Very Noisy water Pipes?

Hi,

I've recently noticed that every time my washing machine runs and it's taking in water, there's a loud noise coming from the pipes. I'm not sure if it's air pressure or what not but it's a really loud boom that goes on and off every 2-3 seconds.

Anyways, I was wondering what is causing it? Also is it dangerous, as in is there a possibility that the pipes will burst? Also, is there any way to fix it without spending hundreds of dollars on a plumber?

It sounds like one or both of the inlet solenoid valves in your washer is (are) chattering. Note whether the sound occurs when you set the washer for cold water, or hot water only. The faulty valve will make the pipes chatter with the corresponding water setting.

What's happened is your washer solenoid valve has gotten sticky, preventing the solenoid from fully engaging the valve, so the valve just chatters. This pressure pulse train is felt (and heard) down the pipes.

I know it's strange, but anything to do with the circulatory system-- the heart, veins, arteries, etc., if someone goes into detail about it I'll get faint, and pass out if I dont get away from it. The same occurs when I'm getting needles, even my blood pressure taken.

I've always been very interested with how the body works, and I can study and discuss in depth anything else, like the digestive system, reproductive, nervous system, etc. It seems like as soon as a blood vessel or something along that line is mentioned though I become very weak and will faint.

I've always just delt with it, as I know it will happen. The circulatory system I don't consider to be a phobia or anything like that. I feel like my mind can be interested in topics that pertain to the circulatory system, but my body just reacts on it's own. I know this isn't nesessarily what's happening, that's just how it feels to me.

Does anyone else have a similar problem, or know more about this?

I have a similar problem, but it does not go so far as "discussions" about circulatory functions. I cannnot touch another person's or my own pulse anywhere on the body. I had worked in a hospital many years ago as a "clinical assistant" on the psychiatric unit. I was kind of a counselor, shoulder to lean on, and chief cook and bottle washer to the patients. One of the things I was expected to do when I worked a double shift, replacing the nurse's aide on the nightshift, was to take the patient's TPRs (Temp., Pulse, and Respirations) in the morning when they first got up. The thought of touching another person's pulse gave me the "willies" so bad that I almost got sick over it. I asked whichever nurse I was working with if they would do it for me. Mostly they were okay about it, but a few thought I was shirking! I even have trouble putting my hand on my heart for the Pledge of Allegiance. I will put it nearby with very little pressure. That is enough to make me feel weak all over! When I have my blood pressure taken, and the device is tightening around my elbow pulse, I begin to almost hyperventilate at the thought of what will come next. That being my pulse getting louder and louder until it feels like it is going to burst! Sorry for the illiteration. I know that hearing that, or should I say visualizing that, would have turned me into a jellyfish! Sorry again!! Even when I saw my son's fetal video there was a sense of discomfort in the kind of undulating movement of the fetus with a heart monitor loudly (BA-BUM BA-BUM) broadcasting his heart rate! I'm getting the willies just writing about this. When I mention the willies, I'm referring to that weak feeling in my wrist pulse area that goes all the way down my hands, into the tips of my fingers that make my hands feel detached, weak, and kind of dead with a little tickle inside my wrist pulse area. All the while, I am feeling weak all over, nervously yawning a lot (sometimes), and I feel like lying down real badly! Do you relate to that description? I would think that you would, that is, if you haven't passed out yet!! I used to get the same feeling when I gave blood, but for some unexplainable reason, I've worked through that. I do not see this as a great debilitation, as I have a neurological handicap that takes up most of my complaining and whining time! As well, I've found somewhat effective ways to deal with, and to avoid the discomfort. Some of it I have even outgrown. I do not know your age, but from your writing you seem to be someone who is old enough to know themselves, or you are a younger person who is extremely bright and way ahead of your years. I've never expressed this particular problem before, and it feels good to be able to share these unique issues with others on this forum. Your situation seems a bit more pervasive than mine, if for no other reason than the fact that you speak of sometimes "fainting" . However, you seem to have a good handle on it, and have found ways to cope with it quite well! Good luck to both, or should I say, all of us!!
