Where can i find cheap parts for my karcher pressure washer?

pressure washer karcher parts image

All I need to replace is the pump head and it is listed between 200-500 dollars. This is not a large piece. The pressure washer new was only about $400-$500. I understand a bit of markup on parts but wow! Any help on where to find cheaper parts online would be awesome.
Alex, I think the word in which you meant was "You're" and no I am not doomed. If you are not going to give a legitimate answer keep the comment to yourself (End Rant).

I am looking for a specific website, Ebay is a no go.
Red: A thread inside the pump head that receives a bolt that holds the hose outlet on gave way. That is to say the thread on the pump head (not the bolt) actually broke loose and is basically stripped. I see no other way then to replace the head unless there were a way to repair the female thread. It is a Karcher 7000G

Answer
We have bought from these sites in the past:

http://www.ultimatewasher.com/karcher-pressure-washer-parts.htm
http://www.pressureparts.com/

If you have a part number, just plug it into your favorite search engine and you can compare prices on any stores that have it listed online.

I just bought a Karcher press. washer. Can't find any info for this model on the web. 3.75hp Briggs 1500psi?

chad90sami

I have a model # and I know that it is a 158cc engine. There are several numbers on it and I have tried to run them all and have forund no pictures or anything that match what I have. Can anyone help me find out more about this item. I tried Karcher.com and it is not there either. I can take pictures or if anyone that works in this field can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Answer
Karcher will often have different part numbers based on what store it retails through. So a costco karcher with the same configuration as a Home Depot pressure washer will have different part numbers. Same engine same pump.

Sometimes there is a serial number on the pump it self that will indicate the pump model. Look on the bottom of the pump near the engine.

If you know the engine size and the pump specs 1500 psi @ x gpm you should be able to compare that to like products on the Karcher website.

gun wand and tip do not have to be from Karcher. The gpm psi data will indicate the tip size.

Their commercial units are more clearly marked.

good luck

Stock tbi to edelbrock carb?

What do i need to do to convert my 1991 chevy 350 c1500 tbi to carb? i am looking into buying a edelbrock power package for my truck. the kit comes with a carb and a intake manifold along with cam and cylinder heads. the kit is supposed to make 410hp. What do i need to do to make this carb work properly on my truck. Email me with any other questions. kbello22@yahoo.com
thanks for the help about the Edelbrock package. i will look into the parts you listed for me. i do have another question. With a carb will my computer work correctly? will my plugs still fire correctly?i am ignorant of the computer in my truck. it is a 1991 k1500 chevy single cab stepside. i just put a 2500$ paint job on it. I have hedman headers, dynomax hi flow cats, and flowmater super 44s. true duals with 3inch pipe. any other input and critisizems would be great!
also let me mention i am 17 and this is the first rebuild i have done completely myself. my godfather owns a transmission shop. my uncle builds and races quicksixteen dragsters. i work with a few people who build motors all the time. help on the project is very easy to get. i want to make sure all parts work together. thats the main reason i was going to use the edelbrock kit. if all the parts in a motor dont work together i am spinning my wheels. Everyones help is appreciated!!!

Answer
****EDIT***
No your computer will not work or be needed. With a carb, you are ditching the EFI stuff and making the engine/truck like a pre EFI one of the 60's, 70's etc.

In '91 the computer controlled fuel and timing.

You will need a $90 HEI dist. That takes care of the spark side. The carb and fuel pressure reg. takes care of fuel side.

Your gauges, and other stuff will work just like norm, with one expetion. If you have an elec cooling fan, the temp switch that turns fan on it ran through the computer.

You will need to wire fan up to a norm temp switch, toggel switch or straight wire it to 12volts switched so it runs when the key is turned on.

***EDIT OFF***

Doesnt matter if it's man. or auto trans. The swap is the same.

You will need an HEI large cap dizzy. Look on summitracing.com for part # SUM-850001R $90

To hook this up, you just run a 12 volt switched wire to the term marked "BATT" on the dizzy. If you have a tach (rpm gauge) hook it's wire to the "TACH" term on dizzy.

Now you also need to do something about the fuel pump. The EFI pumps puts out 30-45 psi. Carbs can only take 5-7 psi (edelbrock only likes 5.5 psi max) More than that and the pressure will hold needles open all the time, causing it to flood out all the time

So you will need a mallory or other brand high pressure adjustable fuel pressaure reg. This mallory one works great for the swap. Look on summitracing.com for part #MAA-4309

Nowon the top end kit. I'm not a big fan of those. 1st off you will NOT get the power they say. Read the fine print for the 2098 kit you want.

Dyno engine was a GM performance parts ZZ4 crate which already made 355 HP @ 5250 and 405 ft lbs @ 3500.. Had 10:1 compression with the 58cc heads and 9.5:1 with the edelbrock 64cc heads.

Dont come with a carb, timing chain set, rocker arms, etc

The cam in that kit is massive for a street car, plus old tech. 308/318* adv duration, 234/244* @.050", Alot of duration with only a whimpy .488"/.510" lift.

Your engine has about 9.2:1 compression, in a heavy truck. You need much less cam than that. More like 216/228* @.050". That will give you ,ore low and midrange torque.

Next the price is high for what you get. $1800

I would buy part by part and it would be better matched to your truck, and cheaper

Heres what I would do and parts I would use, and place I would buy from.

Patriot performance alum heads. The flow right up there with the edelbrock heads, if not a tad better $895
http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=PAT2181

Fel pro 1094 4.100" x .015" head gaskets $40 for both http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=F1094

Full gasket kit, head, intake, timing cover, valve covers, oil pan, etc etc (just don't use the head gaskets, use the 1094s to gain compression) $24
http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=RB31000

ARP head bolts $62 http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=134-3601

For intake, timing cover bolts if you wan t new ones go to local hardware store, ace, home depot, etc asnd buy them. 3/8" course thread x 1" long threads for intake, 84 cents to $1.50, 12 washers for said bolts 50 cents. Timing cover bolts 1/4" corse thread x 3/8" long and star washers $2 bucks or less

Elgin cam and lifter set, 282/294* adv, 216/228* @.050", 453"/.480" lift, 112 LSA
$90 http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=E1166M

Crosswinds intake (same style as the rpm air gap) $166 http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=52026

Edeblbrock 600cfm elec choke carb $286 http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=1406

Total so far $1570 and already more parts than the eddy top end kit had with its $1800 price tag

Push rods $30 http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=1011

Double roller timing chain set $20 http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=C3023X

Scorpion 1.5 ratio alum. full roller rocker arms $205 http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=S153

Now you will need std older style valve covers to fit those heads. I won't list those due to style is a persnol thing but range from $20 to 100.. Most nice chrome ones are 30-35 bucks so thats the asmount I'll use to get total price

So at $1855 now and you have alot better parts, more parts an only 55 bucks more than that top end kit. Heck you got the alum roller rockers, carb, tming set, valve covers, pushrods extra or "free" if you want to think of it that away

Craftsman Lawn Mower with Tecumseh 5.5 running poorly after tune up. Any ideas?

randysoby

I was given a Craftsman Eager 1 mower with a 5.5 HP Tecumseh engine that is probably 10 or 12 years old. It sat and wasn't started for about 4 years.

I drained the gas and topped it off with fresh fuel, changed the spark plug, oil and air filter. When I tried to start it the pull rope would stop half way and occasionally attempt to rip my fingers off by recoiling.

I read online that there is a pin on the shaft that could be bent.

I pulled the spark plug and the cord pulled perfectly.

Hmmmmmmm.

I installed the spark plug and she fired right up . After a few stop and starts the rope is pulling with ease.

My problem is that when it is running it cant hold a full throttle. Here is a 9 second video that will explain:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd2CprG87YM

On the advice of a friend I pulled the carb (plastic) and inspected it. It looked perfect and the float works freely. I didn't have any carb cleaner handy but I did clean a long thin hole with a wire from a wire brush just to make sure it wasn't clogged. After reassembly it started with ease but idled poorly. Any other ideas? Thank you in advance.
I took the mower apart and everything looked fine. Any other ideas?

Answer
WALK-BEHIND MOWER SOLUTION

the reason you friend gave you this mower was because of this very problem. This is a classic case of flywheel shear-pin (key-way) breakage.
What is a shear-pin?

Briggs & Stratton engines have a shear-pin that is a small ½ inch by 1/8 inch aluminum pin that protects the crankshaft from damage. The pin is located in a slot between the flywheel and the crankshaft. This shear-pin might be bent or broken and will need to be replaced.

You need to remove the covering (shroud) and the fuel tank. Next off comes the pull-cord assembly. This reveals the flywheel, held on by a large 15/16th nut. To remove this nut you need to keep the flywheel from turning. To do this you will need to secure the flywheel. Strap a good leather belt round the flywheel, and, allowing the buckle to rest against a small block of wood against the ignition coil assembly (it works for me). Using a long breaker-bar with either a ½ or ¾ inch square set to fit the 15/16th socket to the flywheel nut. Have someone help you to hold the mower. Turn the nut and remove the nut and washer. Do not loose the nut or washer!

Next, you have to remove the flywheel itself. Here is the trick. You need to hire, beg, borrow, or, dare I say it, steal a large bearing a puller. Fit the three-legged puller over the flywheel. The flywheel is not going to come off easily without some assistance.
Two things you can do here.
1) Now, with pressure on the flywheel, sharply tap the top of the puller.
2) Using a small blowlamp, heat the flywheel to expand the metal, and this helps the puller to remove the flywheel from the crankshaft. Either way works well. Remove the flywheel and you either will see the shear-pin attached to the crankshaftâs groove or stuck to the flywheel.

I am going to assume you have purchased a new (I always have two handy) shear-pin from your local small engine repair store. The will cost in the region of $2.50 and look rather expensive for what they are.

To clear any rust from the flywheel, polish the flywheel inner hole. Using some very fine (preferably used) emery cloth, clean the crankshaft. Using a gas soaked rag, wipe away all traces of emery dust from both the crankshaft and the flywheel. Smear a little grease on the crankshaft and then refit the flywheel, remembering to line up the crankshaft slot with the flywheel slot. Place the new shear-pin into the slot and, using a small punch, or if you donât have one, a long 4" nail comes in handy, tap the shear-pin down until it seats fully
home.

Replace the nut and washer and tighten to 65 foot lbs. Refit all other removed items, and start he mower.
Happy mowing

How do you clean a 1989 Dodge D100 Engine?

I am wondering if you can pressure wash (low pressure) a engine in a 1989 Dodge d100? Is there anything that I should do to protect anyting under there or am I good with just using low pressure? Also, any helpful hints inremoving rust from the frame would be helpful...thanks

Answer
Using a LP washer should pose no problem. Just take care to cover the battery, alternator, and distributor with plastic bags to keep them from getting wet.

If you have serious case of engine gunk occurring under the hood, an engine degreasing product, available at any auto parts store, may be in order. Most of them simply entail covering the aforementioned electrical accessories, spaying the product on a warm (but not hot) engine, waiting 10 minutes or so, than hosing the engine off.

Rust on the frame can be dealt with a couple of different ways. Light rust can be sanded or wire brushed off of the frame, after that apply some primer or spray-on undercoating. An alternative is to purchase a rust-converting primer, which when sprayed onto rust actually chemically converts it into an inert type of primer paint. Advanced cases of rust may require media blasting (such as sandblasting), which typically requires removal of the body from the frame.

Pressure Washers. Gas or electric?

Belinda Z

I'm shopping for a power washer and I need some advice on which kind to choose. Can anyone tell me pros & cons of gas vs. electric?

I'll be using it for keeping the siding on my house clean, washing my car, sidewalks and deck.

Answer
I agree with Terry; there is a lot more to maintaining a gas pressure washer, not to mention the initial cost (much more expensive). For around 100 dollars you can buy an electric unit that will do all the tasks you mentioned.

HOT electric water pressures vs. COLD electric water pressures

pearee

Which is better for what duty? Is hot or cold better for vehicles, side walks, vinyl siding, windows, brick buildings/houses, wood, removing paint/stains, etc. And also- what is a good PSI for these sort of things? Thinking between 2000 and 4000? What is best..? Thanks!
YES!!! I'm sorry I do mean pressure washers!!!

Answer
Are you talking about a pressure washer? There are pressure washers used primarily by commercial companies that do in fact provide hot water, but these are very expensive. Regular cold water pressure washers come in a variey of psi levels, usually starting in at around 1,500 psi for an electric one, and around 2,000 psi for a gas powered one. The higher the psi, the more cleaning capability it has. The trick is to use a chemcial designed for the task you are doing, allow the chemical to "work", then rinse it off with your pressure washer. Far too many people rely on water pressure alone, which (depending on what it is that you're cleaning) may or may not do the job. For example, for vinyl siding, soffit and fascia, etc. I've used a mixture of bleach and liquid Spic 'n Span in a pump-up garden sprayer. Put a good amount of each in the sprayer, slowly add water then apply the mixture to the house. Allow it to work for 10 minutes or so, then follow up with a good pressure washer rinse. This kills the "critters", mold, mildew, and removes the dirt etc. For my painted concrete driveway, and brickwork around the house, I use "Rust-Aid" which is available at Home Depot. Apply full strength, allow it to work, then blast it off with the pressure sprayer.

My 17kg eco bubble washer/dryer machine is not using the conditioner but it's using the normal detergent it worked only two times and since then the conditioner is the same level it's been two weeks since then
it also put 4E sometimes and sometimes it continue without any problems.
but since I bought it, till now it always keep some rest of the detergent in the detergent drawer.
all I'm worried about is the conditioner can anyone help please!!

Answer
The error message 4E mans you need to clean the waterfilter - incoming water supply. It is quite possible that you do not have sufficient pressure in the incoming watersupply. Check that the tap is fully open and that there are no kinks in the tubes. You may wish to consult page 37 of the manual http://manuals.appliancesonline.com.au/wd0754w8e/wd0754w8e.pdf

Should I use new bolts having an oil pan gasket replaced?

AsiaGurl

I'm having my oil pan gasket replaced on a 1999 Buick Lesabre 3800 Series II 3.8L. Should I have them reuse the same bolts or get new bolts? If so anyone know what size the bolts are?

Also, will the job involve lifting the engine or removing the alternator? What is a good price and how many hours of work.

I have a slow leak(1/4 quart every 1,000 miles) on the bottom and the oil pressure gauge dances around with 50-60 pressure.

The oil leak has caused 3 starters to fill up with oil and the bottom motor mount is soaked in oil. All the gaskets on the top have been replaced.

Answer
No but if it jas lock washers id replace those. And dont forget to torque them to spec.

I have a 55 gl. blue plastic drum that i want to use as a tank to supply my water to a electricpressure washer?

pressure washer fittings on
pressure washer fittings image

Carlos

I have a blue plastic, 55 gallon, drum that I want to use to supply my electric pressure washer. I want to open a 3/4 hole and put a fitting where I'll be able to put a hose connecting it to the electric pressure washer thereby being able to use the pressure washer anywhere. What type of plastic glue or cement should I use?

Answer
Pressure washers are designed to receive input water at a pressure of 25 - 60 psi or more. They are not designed to "suck". Even with the drum full, the head will not create more than about 10 psi and as water is removed from the drum, pressure will drop to near 0 psi. My best estimate is that this arrangement will burn out your pressure washer very quickly.

But if you insist, many drums have one hole already threaded to take a 3/4" pipe fitting. Simply buy a threaded hose bib (faucet) and thread it in. If your drum is the kind with two larger lids, buy one or more reducing fittings in the plumbing department to sleeve the size down to a standard threaded hose-bib. As an alternative, bore a hole in one of the lids and install your hose-bib in the hole using a rubber washer on the outside with a stainless steel washer and nut on the inside.

Once you have your faucet installed, lay the drum on its side on a trailer or an improvised "stone boat" you can pull to your location. The faucet, of course, must be on the bottom.

If you're really willing to put your pressure washer at risk on this rig, you can reduce the risk by installing in the other lid a pipe nipple and tee. On one side of the tee install a snifter valve (like a tire valve) . On the other side of the tee, install a pressure guage. When you want to use the rig, fill the drum only 1/2 full of water and use an air compressor to jack the pressure in the drum up to about 80 psi. Then you can safely pressure wash 'til the pressure on the guage drops to about 25 psi.

If that doesn't give you enough wash time, plumb a second drum (or a pressure tank) in parallel with the water tank. Then you can fill your original drum with water and the second with air.

But wouldn't it be easier to just add an extra 50 feet or so of pressure line? Since you have an electric pressure pump you must be running power to it. Anything more than about 100 ft. of extension cord is likely to cause the pump motor to over heat.

Good luck,
Honey-Lee

Is there any way to fix a leak in a pressure washer hose?

George

I was using my pressure washer and managed to get the hose against the engine for about two seconds and it blew a hole in the hose. This is the second time this has happened. I really hate to buy another hose if there is a way this one can be fixed.

Does anyone know a way to fix this without replacing the hose?

Thanks,

Answer
Pressure Washers operate at HIGH PRESSURE and any leaks from the hose can therefore be DANGEROUS!!! A small hole in such, can act much like a scaple.

Depending on the pressure of the system it could even be LIFE THREATENINGLY DANGEROUS!!!

Have the hose repaired by an AUTHORIZED dealer for the specific brand of hose you have.
IF the hose can be repaired, they will be able to tell you how it can best be done to meet your needs.

The two possible options are a mender (a single fittings that permanently joins two hose ends, to achieve a single length of hose) and a new set of couplings (Mating couplings that effectively create TWO shorter lengths of hose).

*** No other forms of repair will be able to withstand the pressures involved. ***

If this is the SECOND time this has happened to you, it would seem prudent to place some sort of shield over the engine to keep the hose away from it without reducing the cooling effect of the exposure needed by the engine, or employ some sort of retaining device to keep the hose away from the engine.

I had a slow hydraulic leak and the oil cooler is covered as well as everything else. I don't have a pressure washer but could borrow one but need some kind of chemical maybe gas to cut the heavy oil deposit loose. I do have an Air compressor.

Answer
use Royal Purple cleaner, var sol, diesel, Mean Green degreaser, or any foaming de-greasers. You can find any of these at any auto parts house or Wal-Mart. Var sol or diesel works really well when you are wanting to soak parts.Mean Green works good if you use the concentrate without diluting. And all your foaming de-greasers work pretty well too. just spray it on and rinse it off a few minutes later. However, make sure you cover any part that doesnt need to get wet. What works really good for me is to go to the car-wash and use the pressure washer their with the setting on "tire cleaner".

for air compressor tools. when do I really need more than 90psi?

Famous cel

tools that I would likely use. brad, finish, framing nailer. pressure washer, paint spray gun, dusting. inflating tires.

do i need to buy an air compressor more than 100psi? or is 115 recommended.

Answer
The problem is volume of air. A compressor that is 150psi and a 5 gallon resovour has 7.5 gallons of useable psi at 100psi. Get the math? If your using a framing nailer is using .1cuft per shot at 100psi and you have a compressor with 5 gallons at 100psi your going to be turning on your compressor pump every 10th shot. those factors get worse the more use you have. An air rachet uses a lot more volume, a paint sprayer even more. If you use a air sander you use a lot too.

Accidentally put oil in the air filter in a pressure washer's engine?

pressure washer motor image

Panba

Yesterday while trying to set up a pressure washer, I accidentally put the motor oil into the air filter spot. Turned it upside down to drain the oil but the engine starts and stalls. Not sure if it's ruined forever or what to do. It's a Robin engine and a Karcher pressure washer.

Answer
It is unclear to me how you would put oil into the air filter but you should never turn an engine upside down. The first thing to do is check the oil level in the crankcase. It should not be above the full mark. Remove the air filter, if it has oil on it replace it. Clean all the oil from the air box (where the filter goes) and install the new filter. Remove the spark plug and give it a few pulls. Replace the plug and start it up, it may smoke a bit but should clear out.

i have a karcher 2500psi gas power washer i bought from costco 5 years ago, it runs fine every summer. this spring i took it out and power washed half of my driveway, i turned it off to take a break, when i turned it back on and started power washing, it would only shoot a weak stream. not enough to even break the dirt away, almost like a garden hose. I changed spark plugs, filled gas , filled oil. it will power wash for about 2 seconds, then go back to garden hose stream. i take off the nozzle, put it back on, and i get another 2 seconds, i have to keep repeating. but its senseless to keep doing this .

what could be the problem?

i noticed whenever the pressure washer does work it will jerk, then will go to garden hose stream mode

any help? thanks

Answer
Sounds like you need to replace the check valves in the pump. Or the pressure relief valve could be sticking open from trash or corrosion. You could try and clean them out. Probably will need to rebuild the pump.

is this a good pressure washer?

No, electric is not the way to go. If you plan to start a business you muct invest in a gas washer. Try Sam's Club or Costco thay have great deals. Electric do not have enough psi to do all the jobs you will run across.

This unit will get approx.10-20hrs a week usage. Here's what I've been considering:
1} Simpson taskmaster PS4000 3.5gpm 13hp honda gx,simpson tri pump. approx$1400
2} Landa 3200 3.5gpm 13hp honda gx,landa tri pump . approx.$1600
3} Pressure pro 4000 psi 3.5gpm 13hp honda gx w/ general pump ez4040 approx.$1200
These are direct drive units / OR is there a better option ?
Thank You

Answer
Mike,

Good question. I use a 3 GPM 3200 PSI machine for decks - 9hp Honda, Cat pump.

I also own several 4 GPM machines - 13hp, but tend to use them on other surfaces than wood. The reason is, the extra force of a 4 GPM machine will make the wood 'pill' much easier. If I am going to stain a deck after stripping the wood and there are a lot of pills on the wood, I have to sand the surface.

Sanding also closes the pores of the wood and I need for the stain to be absorbed in the wood. Kinda a 'Catch 22'.

Yes, I know other pressure washers who use 4 GPM machines on wood and do just fine with it, but there is always some degree of pilling. A 3 GPM does it just right using the white tip (40 degree).

Note: I've always had luck with Landa, General and Cat pumps. Other machines with Simpson and AndoReversibi pumps blew up within a year or two.

You might check out Craigslist for machines that are one year old as they will be much less in price than what you have quoted and still have plenty of life in them. Always good to buy it when the weather is cold. Just my opinion.

Feel free to contact me if you need further help. I've made most of the mistakes that can be made and don't mind helping someone out of my local area - no competition.

Answer
The seals are wearing out in the pump. I often rebuild this sort of thing. Besides saving the cost of a new washer, you'll be helping the environment. Our throw-away society is dumping millions of pounds of stuff in landfills that could be fixed and used for countless more years.

First thing you need to do is seperate the engine from the pump. There should be (on most motors) four nuts and bolts that run through the engine, frame and pump. Take them out. Sometimes you have to wiggle and pull to seperate everthing. Now turn the pump over. Don't take the plate off that is closest to the engine. It won't hurt anything, but you'll just lose the gear oil out of it. Take the bottom plate off. Just remove the four or six bolts from the bottom and pull the two halves apart. One removed, you'll see (depending on the model) anywhere between two and five approximately quarter size rubber washers. Also you'll see from two to six smaller rubber O-rings. Take all these with you down to Sears or a local small engine repair shop and get or order replacement parts.

Now to put it back together. First you'll need to remove all the scale and deposits on both sections of the pump. You can do this with some kind of chemical cleaner, or I just make with some light use of a wire brush nd water to rinse. It's also a good idea to back-flush everything while you've got it apart. Put the new seals and O-ring back in the same places you took the old ones out. Carefully, being sure not to knock any of your new seals out of place, put the two halves back together and tighten the bolts down securely.

To put everything back together with the frame and engine, place the engine on the frame and run two bolt down through the frame to hold it back in place. Now, preferrably with a helper holding the engine in place so it doesn't want to fall off the frame, tilt the frame back. Stip the pump up on the engine shaft, lining up the keyway. Then turn it to line up all four bolt in the same position as it was originally. Install bolts and nuts and tighten securely.

Good luck. If it's your first time rebuilding a pump, its really not hard at all. Just take your time and remember how everything was while disassembling. Be patient and its a snap. I've rebuilt these things in the past for less the ten bucks. That's a whole lot cheaper than a new pressure washer.

Can Spray Paint wash off Concrete?

Brynn

Today I was using spray paint for my project and I did it on my driveway and when I sprayed I outlined the trifold. It's pink and can be used for wood, metal and plastic. I wanted to wash it off but my dad said the rain would wash it off. I was reading some info online and it said it wouldn't. My mom didn't find out yet and my dad said it SHOULD come out. He really isn't that of an expert.

Answer
At this point I don't think the rain will wash off the paint. You might have to wait for it to wear off as you walk/drive over it. The other thing you could do would be to rent a pressure washer. It would have a better chance of removing the paint then your garden hose. The only down side is that you might have to do the whole driveway or you will end up with one really clean spot.

What is the specific difference between the ARC, AERO, and LINEAR. Please be as specific as you can. Thank you.

Answer
You failed to mention the year, so that makes a difference. However, for example, try 2005:

In 2005 the engine was the same but the turbo boost was different. Linear was only the wagon format. Below are all the differences:

Details: Linear

The Linear is powered by a 2.3L DOHC four-cylinder engine with a light-pressure turbocharger system. Itâs rated at 185-horsepower (138 kw) and 207 lb.-ft of torque (281 Nm). The standard transmission is a five-speed manual and Saabâs Sentronic five-speed automatic transmission is optional.

Available exclusively as a SportWagon for 2005, the 9-5 Linearâs standard features include an electronic traction control system (TCS), electronic stability program (ESP), anti-lock braking system (ABS) and 16-inch light alloy wheels.

Inside, Linear SportWagon customers are rewarded with leather seating surfaces, a wood-effect instrument panel, electrically adjustable front seats and automatic climate control with separate temperature controls for driver and front passenger. The 9-5 Linear SportWagon also features a rear seat that can be fully or partially folded (60/40), a rigid cargo shelf and the CargoTracks load-securing system. With the rear seat folded, the vehicle has a cargo volume of 73 cubic feet (2067 L).

Details: Arc

A sportier ride and additional comfort features, Saab offers the 9-5 Arc, available in Sedan or SportWagon body styles. For 2005, it retains the powerful, 220-horsepower (164 kw), 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which can be had with the standard five-speed Sentronic automatic transmission or the optional five-speed manual transmission. The Arc rides on standard 16-inch wheels sporting a new design, while 17-inch wheels with all-season tires are optional.

Heated front seats are standard on all Arc models, as are the power sliding glass sunroof with express open, color-matched body skirts, and front and rear foglamps. Ventilated front seats remain a popular option on Arc models.

Adding a degree of safety, thanks to superior illumination, Xenon headlamps with headlamp washers are optional. Rain-sensing wipers and parking assistance also are available.

Details: Aero

Aero Sedan and Aero SportWagon. All Aero models feature bolstered sport seats, 17-inch wheels, a sport-tuned chassis and the 2.3L High-Output Turbo (HOT) engine producing 250 horsepower (187 kw) and 258 lb.-ft. of torque (350 Nm). A five-speed manual is standard and Saabâs five-speed Sentronic automatic transmission is available.

Aero models are distinguished with a body kit that delivers a more aggressive exterior appearance. In addition to equipment found on Linear and Arc models, the 9-5 Aero features leather sport seats with sport steering wheel, a 200-watt, nine-speaker Harman/Kardon-tuned audio system, an automatic-dimming rearview mirror with compass and integrated garage door opener. As with 9-5 Arc models, Xenon headlamps with headlamp washers are available.

As of late, all Saab 9-5s have the same 250 hp engine and other changes occured, so the year is quite important. This is to just give you an idea of the differences one model year.

Stock tbi to edelbrock carb?

kbello22

I took apart my pressure washer pump and gear oil has spilled all over. How do I reassemble?

X-Men

I took apart my Karcher K2400HH pressure washer pump unit from the engine and now gear oil is all over on the ground. I think I took the whole pump unit out and now I need to reassemble it back again. How do I put it back together, where do I fill the oil back in and what type of gear oil should I use? Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
I had the same problem with a Generac Model No 1537 2400PSI washer.!!! This unit has a 5.5 HP Honda engine.
I'm a builder, and one of my customers gave me this pressure washer after he had problems with it. Seems he left it with the gas in it for years and gummed up the carb. He told me his daughter ran it without the water turned on and burned up the pressure pump. He bought a new pump, but had no idea how to replace it. When I removed the old pump, I had a flood of oil on the garage floor. The new pump was a Briggs and Stratton kit #193473GS, and did not have the wet bearings of the original. It bolted right up to the bottom of the engine and works like a charm.. It took a little cleaning with Gum-out to get the engine running, but now it works fine.
I remember that there was a drain plug on the side of the pump shaft housing, but nowhere in the service manual did it tell you what weight oil went in there ,or how much.

Why does my 6 month old troy built pressure washer stall out when water is hooked to it?

razor

My grandmother passed away recently and I was given her pressure washer... Someone stored it over the winter and it wouldn't start... Carb gummed up. Now it runs like a champ but as soon as I hook water to it it will run and then bog down quickly and die?? I'm good with engines but I don't know where to start with the pump? It's a lowes brand troy built 2550 psi 6hp gas powered model. I've started it a couple of times without the water but never more than a couple of seconds and it was purchased in November... But not properly stored. It looks bran new but I don't know what to do now.

Answer
The throttle speed might be set too low, set the throttle to high.

You might still have carburetor issues, be sure you have enough water feeding the pump.

Thanks!

Answer
You can do the followings to finance the purchase.

1. Apply for small business aid.
2. By means of hire and purchase.
3. Payment by installments with cash or credit card.
4. Pledge the machine to a finance company and pay by installment.

Never buy off the machine with credit card, the interest is too high.

How can I remove a Photo Emulsion from a silk screen?

hall0weenv

I reccently got a used screen. after scrubbing it with emulsion remover and using a pressure washer I was oly able to remove small areas of the emulsion. is there any other sort of chemical I could use to remove dried up inkk/ screen filler?

Answer
It might be that the Emulsion remover was not formulated for the type of emulsion used, in this case see if you can identify the emulsion and buy the correct remover. If a screen has been left a long time it does become difficult if not impossible to remove the dried emulsion, i have known people to use bleach or acetone to shift stubborn areas. However both of these liquids could destroy the screen material itself so use with caution and test first.
We cleaned one screen by soaking the emulsion side in bleach for 5 minutes, scrubbing then leaving for another 5 Min's all the while being careful the bleach didn't come into direct contact with unexposed material - but this is at your own risk as it could destroy the screen entirely. That said if nothing else is working maybe you have nothing to lose by trying these, certainly acetone will remove most adherence's known to man!
failing this you have the frame and there are some cheap alternatives to using the expensive silkscreen fabrics and meshes (link below), you could even try experimenting with other fabrics - i have seen some done through a stretched pair of tights before that give a fuzzy, coarse effect.

Will a pressure washer with 1700 PSI clean a wooden deck very effectively? The deck is approx 25' X 8'.

pressure washer 1700 psi on Karcher Trigger Gun Hose for Pressure Washers 1700 1800 PSI | eBay
pressure washer 1700 psi image

John Doe

Some people have told me that I should use a pressure washer rated between 2000 - 2300 PSI to clean a deck effectively. I was planning to rent one in that range, but now someone is going to lend me his 1700 PSI machine. I'm still willing to go to the expense of renting a more powerful machine if a 1700 PSI machine won't do the job properly.

Answer
the machine you are borrowing should be plenty powerful enough- but test it on a spot that people won't see to get the right pressure. If you have the pressure too high or the nozzle too concentrated- you can actually etch the wood and damage it.
After you pressure wash get a good sealer, like Thompson's. This will help close up the fibers of the wood, and keep it looking cleaner longer.

Is a PSI 1700 pressure washer powerful enough to clean a deck?

Is a PSI pressure washer powerful enough to clean a deck and siding on a house? I want to prep my deck for painting and also want to wash the siding on the house. Thanks

Answer
â¢1500 through 1850 PSI â suggested best for cleaning decking, patios, sidewalks, or garage doors

â¢2000 through 3000 PSI â propose using this for cleaning larger decks, such as marina piers, siding, stucco, or fences
