So i've always been interested in working on cars. Autobody mostly. But i know next to nothing about cars that most people wanting to get into this career do. Do autobody schools start you from the basics of a car or do they through you in hoping you know most of the stuff already?

Answer
AutoBody repair is a very easy skill to learn. There are vocational classes at just about every school and some prisons believe it or not.

I suggest you look into getting a Pell Grant and within 6 months to 1 year you can be certified. Or you can simply apply for an entry level position at an auto body shop. It's much easier then you think. Not really physically demanding with all the new air tools today. You don't even have to go to school to learn the trade.

I been doing my own bodywork and paint jobs since I was a teen. You would be amazed at what you can create with simple Rustolium off the shelf from Home Depot.

Take a look at some of my cheap paint jobs for @$40 compleate : paint , brushes, rollers, ect. all from Home Depot.
People see my truck coming and think I spent thousands.
I can spray vehicles as well.......But why worship a paint job. And touch-ups are a perfect match every time using this method.

Here is a Starsky and Hutch rendition on a truck of mine. I swear I only have $40 in the whole paint job.

I have done many different scheames , from pink and grey camoflage, dalmations, dairy cows , and many other prints all with Gloss Rustolium.

I'm presently restoring a professors 1965 Mustang in Rustolium hunter green.

Word of advice, never spray a car with a spray can, the paint never lays evenly , and the powder coat laying effect turns out to have a sponge effect that quickly retains water and fades off.and there is always overspray to avoid. Always use a "smooth cigar roller". Tape you trim and window edges off with duct tape , tighten the seams with a plastic credit card ,and trim the tape with a razor to leave a crisp edge. Allways use a Gloss paint so it is washable.
A base color will take about a day to apply by myself.
after a week of cure you can start your overlay patterns using the "Blue Tape" to trim your edges with.

I tell you the truth....I have easily made $5000.00 over the years doing these Rustolium paint jobs. They are cheap , easy and lots of fun to apply. I usually charge $100.00 for a 1 color base coat, and it only takes me a leasurly 8 hours to compleate . Yes I can totally paint a car and have it back to the person in 1 day for $100.00 plus the cost of materials($40)

Another good thing is I can strip the whole job with a 3500 PSI pressure washer and lay another scheme ,
With very little or no sanding involved.

The paint scheme on the truck has lasted about 3 years since originally done.

I am looking for a pressure washer to periodically wash my driveway, porch, house, etc. Is 2200PSI good enough?

Answer
I do a lot of pressure washing in my painting business. My washer is 3500 PSI / 4 gallons per minute. I never run it at full pressure. Most of the time its set at 1100 PSI. Pressure does not cause damage, impact from the water against the surface being washed is what causes damage. Lower pressure is one way to reduce impact. Other ways are using a wider fan tip and increasing distance from the surface.
