Above ground pool cleaning + vacuum?

skyziz

I have an Intex 16'X48" round pool and it is a horrid green color. I tried the pressure vacuum that came with it but it just seems to stir it all up. Is there some trick to the pressure washer? My parents have a much larger above ground pool which they use a suction vacuum and send the algae to waste. I have been dumping the prescribed amount of algaecide for days to no avail. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated...

Answer
when putting algicide in you have to be sure and shock it also. once algae is dead vacuum it out with the same vacuum your parents use, otherwise it will just stir around and come back in a couple of weeks. good luck

Pressure washer problems?

Christophe

I have a 2 year old craftsman 3000 PSI, 2.7 GPM w/ a Briggs & Stratton engine pressure washer, (Model 580.752270). It starts and runs great but then turns off about 30 seconds later. I have changed the gas, and the oil level is fine. I have noticed that when I press the prime button it sounds like it just priming with air. I also have checked the small red plastic fuel filter and it's good. Please help!!!
Leaving the gas cap off worked, now how do I fox it?

Answer
Try running it without the gas capon.
The vent in it might be plugged up and not allowing air in, as the gas goes out creating a vacuum in the tank.

Is it legal to use pressure washer to clean car?

Tom

Hi, I would like to know if its legal to use pressure washer to clean car on a public road ?

Answer
Pressure washing contractors do it every day, the legal issue has to do with reclaiming the water. Some cities are mandating that if you wash a car with a pressure washer, you must have a system to vacuum the water back up. They state that cars get many contaminants that should not be washed down the drain. Some cities will require you to pick the water up, AND have a special permit to do so. Check my sources- I have included a forum discussion on this among pressure washer contractors, and a document from the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services. Check with your county, city, and state for the mandates to make sure you are not breaking any laws.

How to select steam pressure washer for restaurant cleaning?

Can anybody tell me how I can remove traces of chewing gums in my restaurant that stay put even after thorough cleaning with stain cleaners and detergents? I have heard about vapor steam cleaners but I would like to know moreâ¦any suggestions?

Answer
Well, vapor steam cleaners are the best options when it comes to removing chewing gums 'stains' on any materials. And they would definitely be effective on your restaurant floors. A vapor steam cleaner work by ejecting dry vapor that contains less than 5% water content on to the surface. This melts the gum deposits and special cleaning tools and brushes attached to the vapor cleaner clean the gum, which is eventually extracted by its inbuilt vacuum tube. And your problem gets solved rightaway!

This equipment is very effective as you can remove even the toughest of chewing gum residues by applying the highest pressures possible. In fact the pressure levels can reach as high as 120 psi. Go ahead get a vapor steam cleaner and enjoy a 'gun-free' zone in your restaurant :)

Thanks.

My painted deck is peeling badly. I'd like to strip the paint and stain it. What's the best way to do this?

Will I need to sand it, or will a pressure washer do the trick? Can anyone point me to a good website with step by step instructions? I'm not having much luck. Also, any tips from those who have done this will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Answer
Please know that if you pressure wash a deck that's got a lot of chipped paint on it. You will have wet paint chips all over the place. Big mess! and you probably will have a lot of paint still on the deck after your done power washing it. If you want to stain it then I would recommend either stripping the paint with a product called "Marine stripper". The best stripper I know of. Or sand it all down with a belt sander. Do you want to stain it with a clear stain or a solid one. When you completely remove all the paint. Stain a couple of the boards at a time using a brush. This is so that the stain doesn't dry on you before your done with a particular section and thus you avoid over-lapping in the final results. Let it dry a day or two. then your good to go. The big problem with decks is that if you paint them. You have to keep repainting them. But If you stain them. Then you can re stain them again and again with little or no problem. If I had to choose a route that would be easiest and most cost effective. I would paint it. I would just scrape it down real good. vacuum up the paint chips. Clean it with a bucket filled with hot water mixed with bleach. spray it off with a garden hose. Let it dry a couple of days. And Prime/Paint it with a good deck paint. If your deck is made of pressure treated wood (Green color wood). Then this may explain why the paint is peeling badly. You will have to use a certain type of stain if this is the case or just leave the wood bare.

What equipment would I need to start a mobile car wash?

I know that I need rags, brushes, products etc. What I dont know is what do I buy to get the water to wash the cars, like what powers the pressure washer, etc

Answer
Most people use a gasoline powered pressure washer. You can get water either from a long hose ran to a nearby building, or you can get one of those large water tanks, usually 90+ gallons. Most people mount the pressure washer and tank combo to a small trailer, or inside a large work van.

Then, like you said your soaps, cleaners, waxes, polishes, chamois, a vacuum, interior carpet cleaner, a brass brush, a ton of rags, etc.

How do I start my own mobile detailing ?

Rafael

I'm 20 years old live in Los angeles I have a truck & some experience in detailing/washing & some clients!

What are the basics things too buy just too start ? Any heads up ?

I was thinking pressure washer vacumme Busines cards flyate generator & washing utensils & water tank?

I have $500-700 budget!

Answer
You just about got the list right, this actually was the very first business I did. You can get lots of the stuff at Pawn Shops or on Craigslist used for a good price. I would say a good vacuum first, washing utensils and then a pressure washer generator, try and get a quite running one.

What I did was start in the residential areas, in that way I could use the clients power and water. As my funds and clients built up I got into washing at commercial spaces where you would need to have your own everything. The key to this business is trust, people have to be able to trust you with their vehicle and it's contents. So make sure you look presentably, get maybe one or two shirts with your name and some simple logo so you look legit and just market like crazy and do a good job. Always ask for referrals, and give out tons of business cards in the areas you serve.

You can also rent equipment you don't have for now as well, so book several shampoo's in one day and rent the machine from HomeDepot for the day, same with the generator and pressure washer. Also put a nice heavy orbiter and buffer on the list as well. Look to buy your stuff also wholesale if you can as this will save you some money and you get commercial grade stuff which typically perform better.

Hope this helps if I can be of additional assistance please let me know.

Should I wash my rug at the car wash?

PlasticTre

I got the idea from my friend. He said that's how he cleaned his mom's rugs.

One of my dogs has white hair and sheds a LOT. There are white hairs embedded in the rug that I can't get out with the vacuum or carpet cleaner.

If I use the pressure washer at the car wash.. will there be any drawbacks? Can it damage the rug? *It's a huge cheap rug anyway from walmart*

Answer
Sounds like a good idea but the only thing is it's going to be sopping wet, how are you ever going to get it dry. If you have a truck you could put it in the back of it once clean then take it home and hang it over a fence or something. Good luck!:)

I would just shampoo it with a shampooer.
