What can clean my Vinyl siding?

It's cream colored and has never been cleaned in years

Answer
pressure washer does a very good job, even without any cleaning solution

need best way to get grime off of vinyl siding using cold water pressure washer?

chew/coo

have tried several cleaners diluted or full strength they still leave dirt looking spots. the worst is the spouting even scrubbing still leaves stain like spots, doing it two or three times does not do a better job. Should note we live one house back from a main road with coal trucks hauling around the clock. Wash house every three years, its been done two times so far. It has come clean both times. need help BAD.

Answer
Get a garden bug or pesticide sprayer and fill it with white vinegar. Let it sit about thirty minutes and then spray it with the pressure washer. If it doesn't come off with that it isn't going to come off.

Is a 2000 PSI pressure washer good enough to clean siding?

I need to know if a Gas powered 2000 PSI pressure washer, is hi powered enough to clean dirty vinyl siding.

Answer
Yes and maybe to powerful if not done correctly. Spraying in the downward direction will help reduece the chances of getting water behind the siding. If you can not spray in a downward manner then spray straight on, never spray upwards and don not hold the wand to close as this can cut into and damage the siding.

How can I remove mold and mildew from the outside of my house. What would you like to ask?

chef1day47

I have vinyl siding on my home and on end of the house there is moldy type mildew growing covering the siding. The siding is white and this green goo looks awful. What is the best cleaner to get rid of it? I have a pressure washer. Someone told me to try "job max" (found at Home Depot). Is there any home remedy I can try first? Maybe a little bleach and water?

Answer
Some hot water, soap and bleach. Scrub with a long handled scrub brush. Then spray to rinse well. Be careful with with a pressure washer on vinyl siding, it can rip a hole right in it, if you turn it on too strong.

While pouring our porch the concrete splattered onto the vinyl siding. How can we remove it without damage?

We recently added a concrete porch across the front of our house. While pouring the concrete some of the concrete splashed onto the gray vinyl siding. I tried a pressure washer set at a low pressure and it took a small amount off. How can I remove the concrete without damaging my vinyl siding?

Answer
Carefully scrape off what you can with a putty knife. Clean the rest with acetone on a clean rag. This is what the vinyl window guys use to remove light scratches. Of course try it in a unnoticeable area first if you want to make sure it won't hurt the vinyl

I've looked at a few websites and see that I can get gas powered washers for upwards of $400 and also get small electric ones for as low as $80. I understand that the big difference seems to be the pressure that each puts out (PSI) but that's all I understand.

Can I get a compressor so I can say attach a paint sprayer, a tire inflator and then attach a head so I can pressure wash? Or do I have to get a compressor for paint and air and then a pressure washer as well? I'm mostly interested in the washing part but would be nice to have an all in one solution if that is even available?

Here is what I want to do...wash the cars, RV, kids bikes, driveway, vinyl siding on the house and basic yardwork type of chores.

Please help me figure out what to buy?

Answer
If it were me... I'd go to the local rental equipment shop and ask the guy in charge of what he thinks. Why - because he would be the one very familiar with what you'd be looking for. As that's what he rents, and is very knowledgeable about.

We bought an older white house that has vinyl siding two years ago, and it's gotten dirty from construction and misc. I would rent a pressure washer myself and do it, but I've heard if you don't know what you're doing (I don't) it can be bad, so I'd like to hire a proffesional, but I have no idea how much it would cost. The house is medium sized, two story, sort of irregular shape. Any advice would help! Thanks

Answer
Depend on the size of house and the total sq.ft., its it two story or have lots of scrubs around it.
$0.20 - $0.45 sq ft, in the southeast area.
