I have a 5hp Honda Excell XR2600 pressure washer. I talked to the reps on the phone and they told me it was the thermal relieve valve was the problem I was having. It would make pressure sometimes and then othertimes not. I got the part 16484 and I just don't see where it goes. I have had the pump off and I still don't see where it goes. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
I'm afraid the rep may have mislead you. The thermal relief valve only activates if the pump over heats by releasing hot water from the pump to make room for cooler water. It does nothing for making pressure. The pressure problem you describe would be connected with either the pressure relief valve, or the pump valves, or both.

How do I fix the hose tail on a Craftsman Pressure washer?

Mike R

I have a Craftsman 2550 PSI pressure washer. I need to replace the "hose tail kit". This is the part that you attach the suction hose to for the detergent. My problem is upon receiving the replacement part I have found that I don't know what order to assemble the parts. There is a new "valve" but it came with a small spring, metal ball, and a washer. Does anyone know in what order these parts go?

Answer
You should be able to download a diagram from craftsman.com and see for sure how to assemble.

If I have to guess it sounds like you should the valve should go on the outside followed by the washer, ball, and spring. It is essentially creating a check valve inline so that it can only suck up the detergent and it won't put water back into that bucket.
