My 2 cents worth...
Old aluminum siding can be painted, rather than replaced. Here is the process.
Clean the aluminum siding. I use Simple Green. Whatever cleaner is used, a good rinsing is important to remove all detergent residue. A pole sander is great for scrubbing. Just attach a green nylon scrubbing pad to the sander and spray on detergent and scrub.
If the siding was painted before with a latex paint and you are repainting, you shouldn't need to primer coat unless the surface is in poor condition or peeling. If you need to primer coat, use a good water based exterior primer. Let your surface be the guide when deciding if you should primer coat. If unsure, then primer coat everything. It can't hurt and will provide a better and longer lasting job.
A light sanding is helpful before applying the final finish coat. Sand with a 150 grit sandpaper. If you are recoating an acylic latex with latex, sanding isn't a big deal since the latex adheres very well to latex.
For the finish coat, acylic latex is the way to go. I use a low luster or satin finish. It looks more like the factory finish. For a real smooth job, use an airless sprayer with a .017 gun tip. You can rent a professional machine in most areas. If you want to brush and roll, use a foam roller which gives a fairly smooth finish. Whatever method is used, add Flood Flowtrol paint conditioner to the paint. It slows the drying and lets the paint flow and level out. If you spray the siding, you can build up the material quickly. If you brush and roll, you will need a couple of coats to get good coverage.
A pressure washer speeds up cleaning. They can be rented in most areas. If you pressure wash, you still may need to scrub some stains out of old paint. If you have chalking paint, a pressure washing is the best method for removal of chalking.
Pittsburgh Paints makes an aluminum siding refinishing material. It is very good, but on the expensive side. It is best if you are spraying the siding with an airless sprayer.

Car Pressure Washer Help..?
I am looking to buy a pressure washer for cleanin my car.I am only looking to use it for cleaning my car and nothing else really.I was wondering what would some people recommend? If they have bought a good one and its going strong,etc..
Im in ireland FYI..Not really looking to spend more than â¬120-â¬150 ish but want a good solid pressure washer for that price..Thanks

most car detailers would say a pressure washer will do more damage to your car paint than good
Perhaps it will be useful on like tires.
If you want to buy something to make your washing easier, you should look at a foam gun/cannon/lance instead.
