hole in the valve (never happened before) now the washer won't build up pressure. I've replaced the pump once before. if i replace the thermal relief valve will that solve the no pressure problem. Pressure Washer model # EXWGV1721. the part # for the relief valve is 17658.

My troy bilt pressure washer has hot water coming out of the valve on the bottom when the engine is running but I have nothing coming out of the gun/nozzle. With the engine off if can pull the trigger on the gun and water will come out, so the hose/gun is not clogged. it was working fine earlier today, i took a break for a bit and now this. Any suggestions ?

Answer
I have a Troy Bilt washer and I will read from the manual. When you hook up the water hose, press the trigger to purge the system. A stream of water will come out. Then crank the engine. Sounds like you are in the automatic cool down mode. ( Thermal Relief). The manual says this: If you run the engine on your pressure washer for 3-5 minutes without pressing the trigger on the spray gun, circulating water in the pump can reach temperatures above 125 degrees. The system engages to cool the pump by discharging the warm water onto the ground. Sounds like this is your problem. Hope this helps, I think it will.
