Maximum of 1600 psi electric is more than adequate for your car and not to harsh to damage the finish. Gas powered pressure washers i would only recommend if you cleaning a bus but not a car.

mobile detailing pressure washer not feeding from tank?
I am just starting a mobile detailing business, I have everything set and ready but the pressure washer. I had a 1600 psi pressure washer connected to a 275 gallon water tank with a regular hose. The pressure washer turns on but no water comes out. I thought maybe a stronger pressure washer would help so now i got a 2600 but still wont work. They work fine connected on the garden hose but just dont get enough pressure from the tank. I tried placing the pressure washer lower to see if gravity would help some water came out but not consistently. How can i get this fixed without the need of a water pump?
I worked at a mobile detailing business and they had their water tank hooked up straight to their pressure washer. It was a 2200psi there was no pump, simply a hose from tank to pressure washer. and it worked fine all my hook up and connections looks just like they had it.
any advices?
it is connected to the bottom of it. straight from the water tank to the pressure washer. it works fine on the garden hose... the manual on both said it requires at least 20 psi of water. I think it has that much but if it doesnt how can i give it more psi so i wont need a pump like the many others ive seen?
I will try a larger diameter hose see how that goes thank you

Where are you connecting to the tank? If you are trying to syphon from the top of the tank, it probably wont work. The suction from the pump will collapse the hose and not allow water to flow. I'm thinking you need to attach a tap at the bottom so water pressure will be pushing water into the pressure washer pump.
