What is the best epoxy or tape to fix leak in pressure washer hose?

paki

Where i work we use power washers to clean, machines are rated at 1500 psi, the problem is that hoses get small ruptures and instead of replacing a $110.00 hose each time i want to repair it so hose can be used again

Answer
You may be able to cut out the small section with the hole and splice the hose back together with a brass coupling piece, or several eauipment rental stores can install a hydraulic fitting for you to repair the hose. You might be approaching the cost of a new hose with the cost required to make any repairs, so you'll have to decide if it's worth the trouble.

Pressure washer hose has hole in it.?

My pressure washer hose has a hole in it and about 2 feet from the connection. I would like to get this repaired if I can. I know that it cannot be patched. Can it be cut of and refitted to the connector, and what kind of business would I take it to for repair. I'm one of those people who would rather repair, if possible, rather than replace. Thanks

Answer
Lines for pressure washers normally consist of 3 or more layers - at a minimum - inner hose/line, metallic or nylon wrap, outer cover.
A seemingly small leak on the outside means that the metallic or nylon wrap has been compromised. Putting a "patch" of any kind on the outside might hold for a short time but the pressurized water will eventually force between the layers and break through again. Short of splicing, which requires special tools, there is no easy way to patch this. Furthermore, since the strongest part of the line has already been compromised, it's likely to degrade further.
Sorry to say, the best remedy is to replace the line.
Good luck.
